Q.2) What is rectification? Explain the function of half wave, full wave and bridge rectifier with
circuit diagram.[2+8]
Q.3) a. Why P-type/N-type materials are electrically neutral?
b. A 5.0V stabilised power supply is required to be produced from a 12V DC power supply
input source. The maximum power rating PZ of the zener diode is 2W. Using the zener
regulator circuit above calculate: i. maximum current flowing through the zener diode. ii.
minimum value of the series resistor, RS. iii. The load current IL if a load resistor of 1kΩ is
connected across the zener diode. iv. The zener current IZ at full load.

Q.4) (a) what is negative feedback amplifier? Prove that the input impedance of series
negative feedback Zif=Zi (1+Aβ) .
b) The open loop gain of an amplifier changes by 20 percent due to changes in the
parameters of the active amplifying device. If a change of gain by 2 percent is allowable, what
type of feedback has to be applied? If the amplifier gain with feedback is 10.find the minimum
value of the feedback ratio and open loop gain.

voltage v2= - 80 µV is applied to the inverting input terminal of an OPAMP, output

and CMRR.
