The early years of a child’s life are critical in laying a firm foundation for all future learning.

Music is a vital stimulus to the developmental process. All children engage and learn best in
a playful environment where they actively participate and are free to explore. Music can be
an effective tool to help children develop essential skills needed in communicating,
socialising, and playing.
A rich mixture of folk and traditional rhymes, songs, singing games, stories, composed and
Art music, instrument playing and classroom improvised activities are essential to the
development of innate musicality in the child. The activities in our music classes help
children make meaningful neurological connections for music as they are passing through
critical and sensitive periods for the development of musicality. These connections might
otherwise not be made.
Our guidance includes providing activities based on different musical elements, such as
rhythm, melody, form, dynamics, timbre. As we focus on the performance of repertoire and
movement and the choices of repertoire presented, the young child is enveloped in an
aesthetic, musical soundscape that inspires the seeds of musicality to frowned.
The practice of a variety of musical activities stimulates and supports sensitivity. In a music
classroom, the proper artistic expression – singing and chanting – from adults, and
kinesthetic expression – playing singing games, moving artistically – all help children become
sensitive to the elements of music. We value children’s ideas and encourage their creativity.
In an early childhood music classroom, children are given the opportunity to make sounds
from objects (non-musical or musical instruments) and are invited to explore various
expressive movements. These activities help them feel comfortable with their efforts and
understand and appreciate each other’s feelings – the basic elements for building
inquisitiveness and self esteem.
It is our hope is that the positive interactions among young children nurtured in our music
classes will encourage them to be self-motivated and be happier individuals. Ultimately
music is a key component in the learning process, fostering emotional stability and the
acquisition of social skills, and it plays a critical role in their physical and cognitive
development.
