CROCHET BABY SANDALS AND MATCHING FLOWER HAIR BAND IN 8 PLY COTTON 1
This pattern is written in English crochet pattern terminology and ABBREVIATIONS
provides U.S equivalents. If you have any problems you can leave a ch = chain, htr= half treble, sl st = slip stitch,
message via ravelry. Video Tutorials are available on the various dc = double crochet, (mc) = main colour, (c) = contrast.

STARTING THE FLOWER:
Using 8ply (U.S. Light Worsted) yarn and appropriate size hook
make 4 ch and join to beginning ch. with a sl st., or make a slip ring.
ROUND 1. 3 ch (this counts as 1 tr), 11 tr in 4 ch /sl ring ( this gives
12 tr spaces ) If you want the centre of the flower to be of a
different colour change your yarn now using a slip stitch.
ROUND 2. 1dc 2 tr in 1st tr space, in 2nd tr space 2 tr and 1 sl st
(this gives you one petal), continue in this manner until you have 6
flower petals. Finish off with a sl st into beginning dc, leave tail
secure the sl st by threading through to the back to of petal and
along underside of stitches. Trim loose ends.
ROUND. 3. Turn flower to wrong and using your crochet hook and
yarn pick up two of the middle vertical strands at the back of any
petal and make a sl st, make 4 ch then sl st into same place on the
next petal continue around until you have joined all the petals with 4
ch. do not break off yarn, turn your flower to the front (right side)
ROUND 4. Around the 4 chain loop, *1 dc 5 tr, 1 sl st*, repeat
from*to*and into all 4 chain loops, ( you now have a second row of 6
petals) finish row with a sl st into beginning dc, break off yarn
thread through to back of work and weave through.
ROUND 5 & 6. As rounds 3 & 4 except this time you will make 5 ch
loops and 7 tr between the dc and sl st, Finish off as for round 4.

CONSTRUCTING THE FLOWER HEADBAND


Measure elastic lace to size required and trim. With right sides of
elastic lace to outside sew together using ½ cm. or 1/4 in seam. Pin
open seam of headband to underside, of flower in the middle Stitch
using sewing thread , you will need to secure the band in the middle
both sides of the lace and twice again either side of the middle.
