“Tuesday, December 7 is the
day set to complete gifts at the
Club. I will need volunteers to
do shopping the week before
because this year we are giving
specific items that each Senior
wants for Christmas. I am also
in need of a clean, dry place to
store the items until we put the
bags together. Call me: 255-

t is approaching the end of
the year and The Change of
Watch is upon us followed by
Thanksgiving and the December
holidays. Last year the Change of
Watch was organized by Larry &
Linda Wolfe and was so successful
that Seeta and I decided to mirror
that evening in hopes that the club
will have the same level of enjoy-
ment.
The Lighted Boat Parade is
coming up December 11 and we
need more boats to sign up; please
call Joy Magoon at 252-2018 as
soon as possible.
The strength of our club and its
success rest squarely on the shoul-
ders of the volunteers. If you
would like to help on one of the
committees please contact the ap-
propriate flag officer. See page 7
for a list.
This will be my last column as
vice and I want to personally
thank Bill Newton (Rear Commo-
dore and Port Captain), Bob &

e nearly all arrived at Berkeley
Yacht Club on Friday following a
smooth run from Napa. Friday
we joined the BYC for a lasagna dinner and
games night. Saturday cocktails were served
aboard “Grand Cru” where we were joined by
guests Maj and Anette Yazidi visiting
“Elsinor.” Saturday and Sunday many watched

brated Alan Spence’s 50th birthday. Bob &

Else Madsen’s birthday aboard “C’King Fun”
with Karen’s hearty soup. Norm managed to
produce two birthday cakes!
Bob & Joyce Craven joined the cruise by
ferry boat at Pier 39 (“Omega” was in sick

• Treasurer Vartan reported end of September we
have $77,184.00 in bank. Report accepted.
• Discussion of moving bar to window area facing the
deck. Set of plans given to Flood Control District
seeking their input.

• Visiting boats will be charged a flat fee of $40.00 for
day use.
• Additional $6,000.00 added to building expenses
• Up to $500.00 approved to buy 84 Corelle dinner
plates.

Christmas Tree
Lighting Ceremony

For the first time, we are going to

try to join the Christmas Tree lighting festivities in
downtown Napa at Veteran’s Park by bringing our lighted
boats downtown on November 24. Boats meet at the club
at 5 pm; depart for downtown at 5:45 pm. The Mayor
will light tree at 6:45. We’ve been requested to make
noise when the tree lights. Note: High water is +6.1’ at
2:33 pm and Low Water -0.9’ at 10:05 pm. WE WILL
HEAD OUT AS SOON AS WATER IS DROPPING. We’ll
cancel if weather is bad. I need every participant’s
phone number where they can be reached that evening.

Father’s Day in June found the Commodore’s
Cruise to Petaluma with nine cruisers. Land Cruis-
ers brought the total to 42 members who toured
Keller’s Winery and antique car collection. I picked
out my Christmas gift.

July’s Fourth of July Family Weekend started with

a Patriotic Pet costume pet contest. Of course, all
were winners. We also had a cruise-in and a patri-

Recreational Boaters of California (RBOC) represents the interests of recreational boat-

ers in the Legislature. The Pacific Inter-Club Yacht association (PICYA) is an association
of yacht clubs that provides education programs for club officers and directors, programs
such as the Wheelchair Regatta and Opening Day on the Bay. Club annual dues ($240)
have been at the same level since 2007.

Dues are due January 1, 2011 and are delinquent February 1, 2011. Delinquency fee is
$50. The 2011 roster will be published based on the dues received prior to March 1, 2011.
