What are my hopes for the future of our society?

Nowadays there are around 7.6 billion people in the world, which means 7.6 billion individuals of
any kind, of a different color, nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation and sexuality, all of us
belong into a different society, different country, a different culture. My name is María Gracia
Gonzalez, I’m 17 years old and I’m from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Venezuela is my country I grew
up here, with its culture customs and society. At present my country is facing a really hard social
crisis. I see everyday people dying of hunger, desperately trying to find medicines and food. Since
the crisis began more than 3 million Venezuelans left the country looking for a better future and
better life’s conditions. We are trying to decide what we want, what we want in our live because
now, one person is choosing by all a society and that’s not right. We want to have the opportunity
of choosing, what we wanna eat, what we wanna do, what we want for the future of our society, our
country, and we want equity, we need it. Actually, this world needs equity which is, giving
everyone what they need to be successful. There is a lot of people around the world needing well-
being and education. I think education is the base of every society and many people can’t receive it
because, they don’t count with the necessaries conditions. That means the ambitions of a society are
not being fulfilled. There are people curious, people that want to learn, maybe about their favorite
topics or even about everything; however, if they don’t count on the support of a government or a
system they won’t feel motivated. Everyone has their own dreams and goals but not all
governments offer citizens to manage in the current world and as a consequence, they feel
constantly frustrated. For that reason, we have to support each other to make another person life
easier. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know anything about just try to be kind, always.
Day by day people enface acts of racism, homophobia, bullying and sexual harassment, they are
issues caused by ourselves, caused by intolerance and hate, a person who loves itself doesn’t hurt
others on purpose, even though, it’s okays to feel pain and everyone feels it sometimes, don’t let it
turns into hate. Try to use that pain to make a difference, an impact in your life and in the life of
people around you. Love yourself, accept the way you are, be who you truly wanna be, because
that’s the first step to take care of you, your community, your world, the Earth. The Earth is facing
serious problems like contamination and global warming, all that is caused by us, we have to take
care of our home, the only one we have. We know what we have to do to make it a better place to
live, that change starts with you, with all of us, with our hopes and determination. Every one of us
has hope and I hope that anyone ever loses their hopes. Because our hopes make us wake up in the
mornings and our determination make us make them come true. I hope we can live in a world with
empathy, where we support each other, and we enface future problems together, because enface our
problems is really hard, however if we are together as one, it will be easier. I hope Venezuela can
get out of all this situation and when that happens we will be ready to rebuild Venezuela and move
on. I hope people be more thankful and appreciate little things in life to be happy. I hope people
could make any kind of decisions without scared. I hope freedom, I hope poverty finally over. I
hope people be proud of themselves because they deserve it. I just hope our future society
appreciate what we are, what we were, what we got, what we have built and where we live. Most of
the people have the power to decide what we really want, I propose we use our common interest to
become our hopes into reality.
