” With the great power comes great responsibility,” a line from the famous super-hero,

Spiderman. I excerpt this quote in my introduction as a citizen of our country. We can

make a big difference in every move we do. This movement may result negative or
positive to others and it may affect the routine of the generation.

As part of second semester, we are required to enroll our N.S.T.P.( National Service
Training Program) subject. Wikipedia defines NSTP as, ” a civic administration and
defense preparedness program for the Filipino tertiary education students instituted by
the government of the Philippines..”. I enrolled in one of the 3 N.S.T.P. programs (Civic
Welfare Training Service, Literacy Training Service, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps),
which is the L.T.S.. The Literacy Training Service is design to train children and our citizen
in arithmetic and literacy skills. We are here to let them know.

I learned that we don’t have the same disposition in life. We are all people who ask so
many questions about our life. NSTP provided me some values and points of view in my
life. First, the value of giving even if there’s nothing in return. Second, the value of
friendship. As we teach the students, we are adding them to the list of our families in our
lives. Third, the value of love. We must give love to our brothers unconditionally. In my
point of view, I learned to care for what our country needs. Based on the surveys, the
Philippines is one of the countries that has large percentage of illiterate people. As a
student of the N.S.T.P., I need to provide the needs, not financially, to support each
families to teach their members to love and value each other for the betterment of their
lives.

Also, I want to promote the welfare of NSTP in every individual. For me, helping others
must be unconditional. I remember one scripture in the bible which says, “give to the one
who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you” from Matthew
5:42. For me, the scripture tells us that help is for the better of yourself and somebody.
God is asking us to help others without expecting in return. Even if our class in N.S.T.P.
will be ending soon, I will still help the deserving person whenever he/she needs me.
I found it to my self as a better person. I noticed that; I help other people without a
condition that they will help me also when I ask them, I help a person in times they need
a help even though he/she is not my relative, I respect the parents in every decision they
made for me. I recently noticed that I was more concern with the other people, about their
life situation. NSTP help me to realize everything, even my conscience. It makes me feel
more responsible and more concern in our environment.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does
not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of
wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

As I excerpt the verse came from the bible, I should say, love is unconditional. You must
love others as how do you love yourself. You must love others as how they love you as a
person. You must love others because of their kindness, generosity and patience. You
must love others because that love is a love which came from your deepest heart. You
must love them because God loves them.

What ever will I do for them, I always put my love. For me, it is just spreading my blessings
on them as a student and as there brother. To love others is not hard, if you only know
how to love yourself and your Creator. I will end this line in an excerpt of: 13 And now
these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians
13:13) Whoever you are, whatever you did, without love, it is just nothing.

NSTP is not only a subject but also it is a great adventure. You will experience here some
great emotions like happiness and happiness. Without NSTP, our life in college is boring
or dull. There we experience to give, to respect, and to teach each one of us to the other
person. To love, to communicate, to volunteer, to participate, to care and to give
importance.
If there would be a subject for recomendation, I will recomend this for other future college
students who would enroll to this class. I will miss all of my experience here. Thank you,
NTSP
