Best 6 Technologies Coming in the Next 10 Years

Experts agree that it is not difficult to predict the future of healthcare technology — machine
learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud technologies that apply to the clinical, workplace and
financial processes are a better and richer integration into the industry.
But to get there, healthcare professionals today need to lay the cultural foundation for the coming
technological changes in the next decade.
For example, investing in AI over the next five years will cost the company an average of more than
$ 30 million, according to a survey of OptumIQ 500 healthcare executives published in November
2018. However, 38% of employers and 20% of health planners believe they will see a return on that
investment in four years or less. In the end, 94% of respondents see investments in technologies
such as AI as a clear path to affordable, accessible and equitable health care in the future.
Tom Laurie, Microsoft Worldwide Health Director, says that to realize future opportunities, a
culture change in health care must take place today. He said the future of healthcare technology
relies heavily on the culture and framework that today’s clinical and business leaders are creating.

“What is needed in the future is not just the advances in technology, but the advances in creative
thinking and the ability of leaders to think differently as they develop their processes to leverage the
power of technology without trying to incorporate these new technologies into a framework,” says
Larry.
Anil Jain, vice president, and chief information officer at IBM’s Watson Health say healthcare
organizations need to move away from the stigma of bureaucratic and slow adoption to stay active
in the adoption of future technology.
“Health care organizations need to launch an agenda that emphasizes innovation in health care.
People outside of health care see the industry as too traditional, too slow to adapt,” Jain said. “But
when you talk to people in the industry, we think we’re going too fast. negotiations, Engage in
advocacy and advise others on what the industry needs so that the movement can take place
collectively. ”
Although difficult to look at, these experts have given their insight into where health care
technology will most likely impact in the next decade:
1. Improved Cloud Integration with Existing Technologies
While digital data acquisition devices are important to health care, how to share that data is the
most important part of the equation, says Larry.
According to a 2017 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) survey on
cloud usage, more than 90% of healthcare organizations are using the cloud extensively to host
applications. However, the industry is still using the cloud for specific applications such as clinical
applications, data hosting, and backup, and not in a holistic way. The HIMSS survey found that
despite high levels of cloud usage in healthcare organizations, functionality is still limited.
Larry said the use of cloud integration has allowed for the sharing of data from different health care
silos, and as more and more organizations continue to connect those dots, it will change the
industry.
2. Deep AI infusion
Artificial intelligence has been a part of health care for years, but experts expect it to be a regular
part of the industry over the next decade.
A survey of 200 healthcare professionals by Intel Corporation, released in July 2018, found that
37% of respondents use AI in limited ways and 54% expect widespread adoption of AI in the next
five years.
John Doyle, Business Strategy Director for the Worldwide Health Industry at Microsoft, says we
need to see AI embedded in all aspects of the clinical and operational workflow.
“We are already on the journey for cloud and AI adoption today, but we have already started to make
some tremendous progress and we expect this to continue and with the widespread adoption of applied
AI in fields such as clinical interpretation of complex datasets, intelligent. Medical images, voice
integration and streaming medical devices Alu and of sensor data in real-time insight that “Doyle said.
The new generation of user-centered services aims to integrate patients and consumer journeys, and
how applied AI patients engage with healthcare providers today, Doyle said.
Law can be applied as “Doyle said.
3. Infrastructure upgrades that make healthcare more accessible
Rhonda Collins, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer and founder of the American Nurse Project, says
Vocera’s ability to meet patients through web and mobile portals is essential for long-term care

According to a 2017 report issued by the Federal Communications Commission, the U.S. 50% of
counties have a high incidence of chronic diseases and a high need for broadband connectivity.
Those designated described it as a “double burden” and the incidence in rural counties could be up
to 60%.
4. Smarter therapies
“Most of that technology is already there, so it’s about unlocking that data in the next five to 10
years. Once you unlock that data, we will be able to see progress using artificial intelligence and
machine learning in those data sets. ”
5. Enhanced personalized medical care
Over the next decade, doctors will have the ability to use blockchain, machine learning, and
artificial intelligence to deliver specialized care to patients.
Fitness trackers are currently collecting sail data, but it is an important part of the equation when
data can be merged with other health decision-makers. Ultimately, more personalized therapies,
especially for chronic conditions, will increase adherence to care plans, he said.\
6. Workflow that mimics consumer technology
The workflow technology that the health care industry will adopt over the next 10 years will be
compatible with and adapted to the technology that people are accustomed to in other areas of their
lives.
Before the hospital shift, anyone could sit in their cars, buy movie tickets, make dinner reservations
and chat with friends — all from their smartphones. They enter the hospital for a day’s work and,
most times, the technology landscape is completely different
