About Yonsei The oldest private university in Korea, Yonsei University was first established

Winter Abroad at From 2019-2020, Yonsei University offers a 5-week winter program
at our Sinchon campus for international students who would like to
Yonsei enjoy the winter in Seoul. Winter Abroad at Yonsei is composed of two
separate sessions: Session 1 is a 3-week program focusing on academic
achievement with various courses and Session 2 is a 2-week program with
an intensive Korean language course along with distinguished cultural
and historical lectures related to Korea society.
On the weekend, participants can enjoy special Korean winter activities.
We provide an excellent opportunity to enhance your scholarship, to
interact with eminent professors and to enjoy the companionship of
participants from all over the world.

Session 2 is composed of distinctive lectures on diverse cultural and historical aspects of Korea.
Students will have active and in-depth opportunities to practice and learn about Korean language and
society. The second session is considered as 3 credit basis and the credits are transferable.

Credit Transfer All courses are credit-bearing courses and may be transferable. Credit
transferability of a particular course depends solely on home institutions’
policies. Students are advised to consult and obtain approval from one’s
academic advisors of the home institutions in advance.

Special Activity Taekwondo is available as extracurricular activity

ADMISSIONS
Eligibility
Open to all students currently enrolled in an accredited college or
university as well as high school seniors who have been accepted
to an accredited college or university. Minimum GPA requirement of
college or university students is 2.0/4.0.

FIELD TRIPS
During each session, exciting field trips will be organized for
program participants. Details will be announced through our
website, winter.yonsei.ac.kr.
• DMZ Tour: A visit to the demilitarized zone between South and
North Korea
• SKI Trip: Skiing, snowboard or sled-riding at one of Korea’s
popular ski resorts
• Korean Cooking Class: Learning how to cook Bulgogi, Korean
grilled marinated beef

Housing (Optional)
Because on-campus housing is not guaranteed for all students due to the limited availability, housing
is allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are strongly recommended to apply for housing
as soon as possible through the housing website ih.yonsei.ac.kr after receiving your acceptance email.
