Identifying Network Passwords
● If you are working from home, you’ll need to know your home wireless network name (SSID) and
security key in order to complete the following steps. If you do not know these, sometimes they can
be located on your home router or you may need to contact your internet service provider to walk
you through obtaining this information.
○ If CANET asks for a username and password then there are one of two possibilities:
■ Your computer has not been added to our domain and needs to be added to
continue, or
■ Your computer has been added to our domain, but your computer login will need to
sync with your domain credentials.
○ Please contact the Help Desk if you have either of these issues so they can get this escalated
to the School Service Desk for assistance. The Help Desk can be reached by calling
855-330-4636, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. (ET) to 6 p.m. (ET).
○ Your PIN from Connexus will be verified, an IssueAware (IA) ticket will be made, they will
provide you with the IA ticket number, and you’ll be escalated to the School Service Desk.
○ Please have your IA ticket number ready when being escalated to the School Service Desk
so they can assist you as efficiently as possible.
● Once you find your home or school office wireless network in the list, click on it, check the box
to Connect automatically, and then click Connect.
● You may be prompted for credentials or a password. Please follow the instructions above, and click
OK or Next.
● If you typed the credentials or password, it will show you are connected to your home wireless
network.
Reminder: Your connection information should be saved after the first time you successfully connect. The
laptop will remember your settings for the next time you log in, as long as you remember to check the box
to “Connect automatically” before clicking to connect. However, if for some reason your settings aren’t
remembered, please use these instructions to connect again.
