Eligibility Criteria for admission to M.

Sc:
B.Sc (with Physics Honors), with the applicant having graduated under the 10+2+3 scheme or any equivalent
scheme from a university whose examination is recognized as equivalent to that of Delhi University and having
fulfilled all other conditions of eligibility. The minimum qualifying marks are 50%.
OR
B.Sc (Pass/General/Programme)/B.Sc. (H) Electronics/ B.A. Sc. (H) Instrumentation /B.A. Sc. (H) Electronics with
Physics as a subject and with the applicant having graduated under the 10+2+3 scheme or any equivalent scheme
from a university whose examination is recognized as equivalent to that of Delhi University and having fulfilled all
other conditions of eligibility. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% in Physics and 60% in the overall aggregate.
OR
Undergraduate degree in any branch of Science or Engineering with Physics and Mathematics as two of the
Subjects, after the completion of 10+2 scheme. The examination must be recognized as equivalent to that of
Delhi University and with the applicant having fulfilled all other conditions of eligibility. The minimum qualifying
marks are 60% in Physics and 60% in the overall aggregate.
Mode of admission and distribution of seats in M.Sc course:
The number of available seats for the M.Sc Physics course is 294. Out of these, 50% (147 in number) are reserved
for those students who have completed their undergraduate course in Delhi University with Physics as a subject and
who satisfy the eligibility criteria defined above. The remaining 50% (147 in number) are filled on the basis of an
entrance examination conducted by the department, and subject to the eligibility criteria defined above. The entrance
exam is typically held in June every year. The syllabus for the entrance examination is here. Check the Delhi
