U363 / U364 Update Tool Manual

This manual gives instructions on how to update firmware of the Toshiba Memory USB
Flash Memory U363/U364 series (“USB Flash Memory”). Before using this update tool,
please read this manual thoroughly in order to use the tool properly.

This section lists important precautions which users of our product(s) (and anyone else)
should observe in order to avoid injury to human body and damage to property, and to ensure
safe and correct use of our products. Please be sure that you understand the meanings of the
labels and graphic symbols described below before you move on to the detailed descriptions

* The Update Tool is not compatible with operating systems other than Microsoft Windows.
* Hardware with a USB Type-A port conforming to USB Specification.

Firmware Update procedure

If you perform this operation, whole user area of the targeted USB Flash
Memory is formatted and all data is erased.
Instructions Before executing this step, be sure to back up all important data on
another drive or media.

1. Unplug all USB memory storage from the USB port of PC's.

2. Double click ‘TransMemory_Update_Tool_U363_U364_V220.exe’. Below window will appear.

3. Plug USB Flash Memory to USB port of PC's.

It plugs with the USB port of a personal computer directly, without using a
USB hub.
Instructions Never plug multiple drives in the PC's USB ports.

When the following message is displayed, it is already the newest firmware.


Firmware Update is unnecessary. Click ‘X’ button and unplug the USB Flash Memory by
using “Safety Remove Hardware”.

When the following message is displayed, Click ‘X’ button and unplug the USB Flash
Memory by using “Safety Remove Hardware”. Then reconfirm a procedure.

4. The following window is displayed.

5. Click ‘Start’ button.

6. The following window is displayed. Check the message and click ‘OK’.

The Tool status updating the firmware and the progress bar shows the update status.
The time for about 3 minutes is required by the completion of updating.

Avoid following operations during Firmware Update.


- unplug USB Flash Memory from PC
- apply vibrations or shocks to PC or USB Flash Memory
Prohibited - make PC ‘Shut down’, ‘Restart’, ‘Sleep’, or ‘Hibernate’
When these operations are performed, it may become impossible to use a
USB Flash Memory.

6. Once successfully update the new firmware, unplug the USB Flash Memory.

Click ‘OK’ button.

Click ‘X’ button and unplug the USB Flash Memory by using “Safety Remove Hardware”
