Introduction

The purpose of this portfolio is to fulfill the requirements

needed for the subject Work Immersion which is one of the new
subject for the applied K-12 Curriculum by the DepEd. Work
Immersion is the key feature in the Senior High School Curriculum
and refers to the part of that consists of 80 hours of hands-on
experience of work stimulation which Grade 12 students will
undergo to expose them to the actual setting and to enrich the
competencies provided by the school (Barcelona,2018)

On 80 hours of immersion is helpful and meaningful

experience in my Senior High School days. It is amazing that I can
gain more knowledge, ideas, insight, and background in choosing
what course that I really want to take in college. This experience
helps me on how to be responsible, a better person and a
successful professional someday.

immersion.

us to overcome the difficulties in our work immersion. Thank you
for giving us strength, knowledge and wisdom to manage
ourselves strong and healthy.
Reflection

On my first day of immersion, I was very excited and

somewhat nervous because of the new environment and the new
people surrounding me. I didn’t have any idea of what kind of
people they are and it made me to adjust my self with their
personalities and attitudes.
Aside from the experience that related to my course, this
work immersion allowed me to get acquainted with other
students and teachers. And within those 10 days, I already learned
a lot things, more than what I expected. I came to realize the
importance of immersion training to a student’s life. And from the
training that I got, it’s the experience and learning that I acquired
and will be gaining for the upcoming days which made it essential.
During my stay there as a trainee, they kept on talking and
pleasing us to stay in their hospital that they don’t want me to
comeback to our own school. Though I already finished working
there as a trainee, I am looking forward to see them in the future
not as a trainee anymore, but a professional Chef someday.
HOW TO CONDUCT ONESELF

As an immersion student, I need to be matured enough

inside the school. I must also be hardworking and should practice
self-discipline. This immersion can also enhance my skills and
abilities to know how to cook. As part of the immersion student I
need to respect everyone including the students of the school,
teachers, master teachers, especially the principal and the
assistant principal because in that way I am acceptable to their
school. In the kitchen that I am in-charge, I need to do task that
the kitchen staff give at me and participate/observed their kitchen
so that I know what they are doing. I treat the kitchen staff their
as my brother’ sister’s and also my friends, but I know my
limitations as an immersion student. I also need to wear my
proper uniform or formal attire that they known that I came from
PPNHS or now that I am one of immersion student of their school.
Immersion student should follow the policies of hospital, including
those related to attendance at meeting and appropriate dress.
DIARY

Day 1 (Nov.25 2018)

It was a nervous day! I don’t know what to feel on my first
immersion work because this is my first time. We went to the
Bontuyan Hospital until we totally complete, we went again to the
house of Dr. Jude. I am not expecting that we’re having our
immersion at Dr. Jude’s house. When we arrived their house, we
sit down first and waiting for the guy to call all of us to start our
work. After a few minutes, he call us to start. Five of us assigned to
sliced meat and 5 of my classmates assigned to pack lunch. The
nervous was gone when I feel that people there are good to us.
When we done slice meat, we sliced spicies, lemon, red pepper,
and etc. At exactly 11 o’clock we delivered the pack lunch to the
motorcross place, and then we go back to Dr. Jude’s house and
take our lunch. Before we go home we make sure that we’re done
for our responsibilities.

Day 2 (Dec.6 2018)

Before we start our work immersion, Ma’am Leilani orient
us first and guide us to surround the whole hospital. She told us
our time schedule.
When we come in the kitchen, we started work. I sliced
garlic, peeled patola, wiped food trays, prepared food, delivered
food to the patients, collected food trays and washed food trays.
