Account Associate

The firm’s entry level position is an opportunity for students to learn the field of public relations, while being fully
engaged in the firm’s immersive environment. Every student will enter the class in their first semester as an account
associate.

Responsibilities include:
• Create tactics for clients on a weekly basis
• Make and finalize edits on tactics before seen by the client
• Complete a pitch presentation to the firm as the client
• Help account executive with at least one strategic look a semester
• Complete and participate in a Trending Now topic presentation
• Attendance at every group, client and class meeting
• Be BC’d once in a client email and will have the opportunity to sit in on one phone call with the client to gain
client experience and exposure
Account associates are encouraged to go above and beyond these expectations for their own personal and
professional development (brainstorming, participating in class discussions, helping with more strategic looks)

Account Coordinator
Account coordinator is a prestigious position for students who have completed at least one semester as an Account
Associate and have passed the Associate’s Test. Account coordinators act as a right hand to account executives and are
responsible for many duties dealing with the strategy of the campaign.

Responsibilities are listed below, but are subject to change at the discretion of the account executive:
• Work closely with account executives to create strategies and theories for campaigns
• Be BC’d on client emails and will have the opportunity to sit in on phone calls to the client
• Assist in brainstorm of tactical ideas
• On a bi-weekly basis, account coordinators will make first round edits on associate’s tactics
• Complete weekly tactics for clients, often requiring advanced experience
• Take the leading role on Trending Now presentations
• Help with the completion of at least two strategic looks
• Attendance at every group, client and class meeting

Account Executive
The account executive is the highest position a student can hold underneath the firm director. This is a paid position
and requires several hours of work outside of the classroom. Account executives act as the lead and primary contact on
client work. Account executives are responsible for executing a full length public relations campaign and documenting
the work in several strategic looks throughout the semester. This role also requires management of an account group
that consists of 4-6 team members. Account executives will receive an office space in the Top Dog Communication
office, Esch 330.

Responsibilities include:
• Commit to a full length public relations campaign for a specified client
• Create a strategy, theory and objective for client’s campaign
• Keep constant contact between the client with updates on tactics and strategies
• Delegate appropriate tactics and work to group members
• Compile at least three strategic looks throughout the semester to document work
• Hold at least four office hours weekly
• Lead weekly individual and group meetings
• Lead meetings between the group and the client
