Q1. What do you mean by good conditions of Audibility?
Ans. For good condition of Audibility following condition must be fulfilled:
1. One must be able to hear the sound distinctly, indicating the primary
factor as the RT value
The sound should be heard within the RT value assigned for the activity
For eg. ACTIVITY RT value
Speech (Intense 0.6
Discussion)
Lecture 0.8
0.16 V
𝑹𝑻 =

Reverberation Time (RT) - It is defined as the time sufficient for a sound
note to decay by 60dB.
2. There must be no Destructive Interference in the direct and reflected sound
notes, directing us towards the Distance or the Sound Path difference
between the two sound notes.
#Sound Path difference – Distance between the incident path and the
reflected path
a) > 7m – No destructive interference
b) upto 11m – It is good for speech .No destructive interference
c) 11m-15m – marginally heard
d) 15m-20m – unsatisfactory
e) more than 20m – sound will get echoed
