Q1. What do you mean by good conditions of Audibility? Ans. For good condition of Audibility following condition must be fulfilled: 1. One must be able to hear the sound distinctly, indicating the primary factor as the RT value The sound should be heard within the RT value assigned for the activity For eg. ACTIVITY RT value Speech (Intense 0.6 Discussion) Lecture 0.8 0.16 V 𝑹𝑻 = 𝑎 Reverberation Time (RT) - It is defined as the time sufficient for a sound note to decay by 60dB. 2. There must be no Destructive Interference in the direct and reflected sound notes, directing us towards the Distance or the Sound Path difference between the two sound notes. #Sound Path difference – Distance between the incident path and the reflected path a) > 7m – No destructive interference b) upto 11m – It is good for speech .No destructive interference c) 11m-15m – marginally heard d) 15m-20m – unsatisfactory e) more than 20m – sound will get echoed
