Corrosion generally appears in two forms:
High-temperature corrosion and wet
corrosion. High-temperature corrosion
occurs in cyclones, calciners, kilns and
coolers. Wet corrosion is found in any
construction object exposed to water or
high humidity. The use of alternative fuels
often accelerates both forms of corrosion.
Fatigue is the most insidious form of
degradation due to its often unpredictable
occurrence. However, in most cases fatigue
can be traced back to one single cause.
