Komatsu articulated dump trucks are equipped with two

hydraulically-driven cooling fans that are independently reversible
via the monitor.

The hydraulically driven fans are designed to save fuel and reduce noise. Periodically, as the cooling
cores begin to accumulate dust and debris, the operator can independently reverse the rotation of the
fans to purge the coolers and maintain optimal cooling system performance.

To reverse the rotation of the radiator and/or aftercooler fans, shut off the engine and open the engine
hood. With the key on, navigate to the “Machine Setting and Information” menu on the monitor.
Highlight and select which fan to reverse. Confirm that you want to reverse the direction of the fan by
pressing the “Enter” switch. Start the engine to rotate the fans in the reverse direction.
