Summer Training Project Report (KMB 303) 2018-20 Batch

Important Instructions for the Students

1. At the end of second semester examination, it is mandatory for every student of


MBA to undergo Summer Internship in any business organization. The Internship
will be of 7 to 8 weeks duration. The college/institute will facilitate this
compulsory internship for students.
2. During the Internship, the student is expected to learn about the organization and
analyze and suggest solutions of a live problem. The objective is to equip the
student with the knowledge of actual functioning of the organization and problems
faced by them for exploring feasible suggestions.
3. During the course of internship, the organization (where the student is
undergoing internship) will assign a problem/project to the student. All the students
are required to check their emails daily & keep abreast with the communications
from research guide & should be submitting weekly report of their internship to
their respective guide in the scheduled time.

4. The student, after the completion of internship will submit a report to the
College/Institute which will form part of third semester examination. All the
students are required to complete their rough draft of the Summer Internship
Project Report during internship period & submit the report (word file -soft copy)
to their respective project guide ( with cc to mbaproject@psit.in) through email
latest by 31st July 2019 (The report should be in the prescribed format only ).
However, the final soft copy in pdf format (after imparting corrections as
suggested by the faculty guide) of the report must be submitted by 7th August
2019.
5. The report (based on internship and the problem/project studied) prepared by the
student will be known as Summer Internship Project Report. The report should be
based on secondary /primary data, as suggested by the faculty guide. It should
reflect in depth study of micro problem, ordinarily assigned by the organization
where student undergoes internship. Relevant tables and bibliography should
support it. One comprehensive chapter must be included about the organization
where the student has undergone internship. This should deal with brief history of
the organization, its structure, performance products/services and problem faced.
This chapter will form part 1 of the report. Part 2 of the report will contain the
study of micro research problem. The average size of report ordinarily will be of

approximately 100 pages in standard font size (12) and double spacing. Two neatly
typed and hard bound copies of the report will be submitted to the College/Institute
as per the suggested timelines. The report will be typed in A-4 size paper.
6. The report will have two certificates. One by the Head of the Department and
the other by the Reporting Officer of the organization where the student has
undergone internship. These two certificates should be attached in the beginning of
the report.
7. The Summer Internship Project Report will carry 150 marks and will be
evaluated by two examiners (external and internal). The evaluation will consist of
(1) Project Report evaluation (2) Project Presentation and Viva. The Project Report
evaluation will comprise of 50 marks and would be evaluated by internal project
guide. The Presentation and Viva Voce would comprise of 100 marks and would be
evaluated by two examiners (1 external and 1 internal).
8. The parameters on which both evaluation (1 & 2 mentioned above) would be
carried on would be:

9. It is mandatory that the student will make presentation in the presence of faculty
members and students. The student is expected to answer to the queries and
questions raised in such a meeting. (The presentations will be scheduled from 7th
Aug to 11th Aug 2019).

10. The student shall prepare the Summer Internship Project Report as per the
format given in the Summer Internship Manual as prescribed by the University.

WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORT

All the students are required to submit the weekly progress report (through email)
to the respective faculty guide, with cc to mbaproject@psit.in as per the timelines
mentioned below. The subject line of the mail should mention the Roll No of the
students & Week No. of the report (e.g. Week 1/Week 2 etc)

Tentative schedule for Report submission.

This may vary depending upon the instructions of the Project guide (based on the
status of work submitted by the student). However, all the reports (soft copy MS
word) needs to be submitted by 31 July 2019.

Note: The students are expected to be in regular touch with faculty guides through whatsapp/email
for being updated about the instructions. Extension of dates for Summer Training is permitted only
in extreme cases with written approval of concerned Faculty guide and HOD.
