FINAL PRESENTATION GUIDELINES FOR PGDM MARKETING –
Semester II

Final Project Presentation carries 100 Marks. It is split in to two parts.


1) Presentation Report in Word Doc – 50 Marks 2) Presentation PPT – 50 Marks

GUIDELINES FOR REPORT (WORD DOC) SUBMISSION

1. Write original report. Copy pasting (plagiarism) is strictly not allowed. Any kind of
copying will lead to rejection of the report
2. Follow the exact sequence of content as specified in this instruction
3. Company has been allocated to each student, list is displayed in the notice board and is
also emailed to you
4. Student should refer to www.aceanalyser.com or the suggested websites for collecting
facts and figures – company’s website, www.cii.in; IBEF.org, www.indianchamber.org,
www.assocham.org, etc.
5. Images from the internet can be included with relevance to the subject matter
6. Specify the source (website) while specifying the Facts & Figures
7. Use a cover page
8. Generate Table of Content automatically and not manually
9. Fonts Size of 12 for body, 14 for Heading 1 and 13 for Heading 2 should be used
10. Font Type of Times New Roman for the body and Cambria for the heading should be
used
11. Use break page to write in a new page
12. Hard copy report should be signed by your mentor on or before 15th April, 2018 and
submitted to the Examination Department till 6pm of 15th April 2018
13. Word Doc Report will carry 50 marks and Power Point Presentation will carry 50 marks.
14. Final presentation is tentatively scheduled 17th April onwards
EXPECTED CONTENT OF PRESENTATION REPORT (50 MARKS)

A) ASPECT COVERED – SECTORAL INFORMATION (5 Marks)

1. Provide sectoral information. Cover the following content while presenting the facts
about the sector allocated to you.

1. GDP % contribution of the sector and sub-sector to the Indian Economy (Display
through Pie-Chart or any relevant graphical form)
2. Historical Growth/ Degrowth Pattern of the sector observed in the last 5 years (refer to
Indian Context) (Display through Bar – Graph or any relevant graphical form)
3. Explain the reasons for the Growth/ Degrowth pattern observed in the sector. (Write in
points and explain each point in 2-3 sentences.)
4. Porter’s Five Forces Model for the sector/ sub-sector

In PPT, you may use 3-4 slides to cover this and 3 minutes to explain the slides.

B) ASPECT COVERED – COMPANY INFORMATION (5 Marks)


2. Provide company information. Cover the following content while presenting the facts
about the company allocated to you.

1. Company snapshot
2. SWOT analysis of the company (AND NOT THE PRODUCT)
3. Product/Services offered by the company
4. Competitor Analysis (List the competitors of the company and their respective market
share)
5. News (Last 6/12 month) incl. corporate announcement

In PPT, you may use 3-4 slides to cover this and 3 minutes to explain the slides.

C) ASPECT COVERED – MARKETING STRATEGY (35 Marks)


If your product/brand has many sub-product, you have to take one reference sub-
product. For example, if your assigned company is HUL and assigned product is
Kissan, you may take Kissan Ketchup or Kissan Jam as your reference product. Use
your reference product in the subsequent analysis such as STP, PLC, SWOT and
Marketing Mix.

1. SWOT analysis of product/ service (AND NOT THE COMPANY)


2. Analyze marketing mix (4P’s/7P’s) of the product/service assigned to you
3. Conduct STP of the product/ service
4. Plot the PLC of the product/ service
5. Based on historical data, forecast expected sales figures of the company for the next 4
quarters. Explain your sales projections and sales budget along with your assumptions
6. Study the current distribution formats and marketing channels of the company and
explain whether projected sales figures can be achieved by the existing distribution network
of the company
7. Trace opportunities of institutional selling for the product. How can you segment the
organizational market for the product. From any segment identify an institutional /
organizational customer for selling the product explain the Purchase Procedure, Purchase
organization, Power structure of the organization.
8. Study the digital marketing strategy adopted by the company. Based on the study,
suggest ways to improve their current digital marketing strategy
9. Identify the number of items (20 minimum) influencing consumer buying behavior on
the particular given product category. Collect the data from minimum 50 respondents to
perform factor analysis and name the factor according to the loading

In PPT, you may use 8-10 slides to cover this and 9-10 minutes to explain the slides.

D) ASPECT COVERED – Conclusion (5 Marks)

In your own words, conclude the project on the basis of all the analysis that you have
done and what is the way ahead for the company.

GUIDELINES FOR FINAL PPT PRESENTATION (50 Marks)

1. Use white background and blue/black text color


2. Reference/Resources should be mentioned as footers in respective slides
3. Relevant images and graphs should be used to represent data
4. Fonts Size of 36 for heading and 28 or 24 for body should be used
5. Font Type of Times New Roman for both the heading and body
6. Slides should not be cluttered and with not more than 3 points
7. Use of audio-visual medium is preferred
8. ‘Google’, ‘the internet’, ‘Wikipedia’ and ‘slideshare.com’ are not acceptable resources
of data
9. Plagiarism is strictly not allowed
10. Presentation duration should be around 15 minutes
11. Maximum no. of slides permitted is 15
12. Any presentation without data support and data analysis will not be accepted and that
presentation will be given zero mark. Source of data has to be clearly mentioned
