4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity Form-A-Word Game. Group the students into five by counting 1-5. Show these
(OPHYSSTEHI) letters to students and let the group form words out of it. The
5 minutes more words they composed the more points they will get and the group who can
use all the letters will get the jackpot points of 10. Recognize the winner.
4.2 Activity The teacher asks the students what word was formed using all the letters. The
students will answer HYPOTHESIS. From there the teacher will explain the
meaning of the word HYPOTHESIS to the class. Introduce the five different basic
10 minutes hypotheses on language development. These are the Acquisition-Learning (AL)
Hypothesis, Input Hypothesis, Natural Order Hypothesis, Monitor Hypothesis
and Affective Filter (AF) Hypothesis
4.3 Analysis After the discussion of the five basic hypotheses on language development, ask
15 minutes the students what are the things that they have learned out of the discussion.
4.4 Abstraction How are we going to identify and list down the necessary hypotheses needed in
a particular study? What are the things that we consider in selecting the
15 minutes appropriate hypotheses in a particular study?
4.5 Application Assign each basic hypothesis to each of the groups and give them a topic like
10 minutes “Global Warming” which is the basis for making a hypotheses.
4.6 Assessment Let the students choose two of the basic hypotheses on language that they are
going to use in a particular topic that they like. Let them evaluate their
15 minutes
hypotheses whether those are relevant to the study or not.
4.7 Assignment Write in your assignment notebook at least 3 hypotheses of a topic that you are
5 minutes interested in.
4.8 Concluding Activity
Therefore, we should possess critical thinking on determining hypotheses that is
5 minutes
relevant in the study.

Students are very eager on sharing their thoughts about the particular

each of the group that I’ve assigned to them.

remediation.
