The Fish Named Ting
1. The seas abound with fish, and one of them was Ting.
Ting was a naughty fish. He wanted to know everything
around him, even those forbidden by his parents. Ting
was adventurous, he went out without asking permission.
2. One day he told his mother, ”I want to see the other
parts of the seas.”
3. His mother told him, “ There is time for everything, my
dear Ting. Don’t attempt to explore the sea because if
your father will know about this, he will surely scold you.
When the time comes and you have grown older, we will
let you do whatever pleases you.”
4. There were times when his parents scolded him
especially when he swam far. He envied his friends who
have gone too far to see the seas.
5. Ting asks himself, “Why can my friends do what they
like?” One day, Ting went out to see the beauty of the
sea. He did not know that he had gone too far from his
home. He wanted to be popular. He did not know that
he was now at the territory of the big fish, the whale
shark.
6. Ting hid himself behind the plants for he had seen two
big whale shark. “Oh, my God, how big are these fish!
This is the first time that I have seen fish like these,” an
afraid Ting exclaimed.
7. He feared more when he saw that his friends were
chased by the two sharks. “What? My friends are also
here?” And he saw how his small friends were eaten by
the big fish.
8. The more that he hid himself behind the plants. Ting got
the chance to escape when the two sharks went away.
He swam fast until he reached home. When he saw his
parents, Ting embraced them tightly.
9. His parents were surprised when Ting hugged them
tightly and asked for forgiveness.
10. He said, “Father, mother forgive me for I did not ask
permission from you when I went out.” From then on,
Ting promised not to go out too far and to listen and
follow his parents advice.
