CONTENT:
 How are the content organized? (Units, modules, etc.)
There are ten units and fourteen lesson in this books.
 Is there a story line?
There are story line-original text form of text for example to skill Reading have text
and in the exercise involve it text.
 Is the syllabus carefully planned and graded?
For Grade XII of Senior High Schools Language Major
 Are the four skills developed systematically and in a balanced way?
In the book every unit there are four skills Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing,
and it balance because every unit different topic and have 4 skills.
 Do the topics provide the students with the vocabulary required to interact in the
situations occurring most frequently in daily life?
The materials in this book I consece the point is difficult but every the and materials
have glossary.
 Is the pronunciation syllabus closely linked to the language syllabus?
This book each unit have table pronunciation appropriated with the materials.
 Can the students learn about the customs and cultures of English-speaking countries
and about other cultures related to the English speaking world?
On the book to lesson 3 the material describe about philosophy, students can learn
about it.
GRAMMAR FOCUS:
 Are the students helped to acquire grammar rules with a variety of the techniques?
I think students can helped to acquire rule grammar, because each unit explan about
grammar and each unit different grammar material, for example in unit 1 description
about Subject-Verb, unit 2 Indefinite Pronouns.
 Are new structure presented along with language functions?
This book have grammar points, so each points have the functions.
 Is there enough reinforcement and practice of the structures?
Yes, this book enough reinforcement of the structure because in the materials explain
about sentence and grammar points have about Subject-verb. Can make easier by
student to doing exercise.
 Does grammar learning involve problem solving, comparing and contrasting the rules
of English and Italia?
I don’t know about it, because not yet see or read grammar use Italia Language.
LEVELS
 Are the levels carefully planned and indicated?
Yes, before go into materials this book have concept Map.
 Are the activities appropriate for each level?
For each lesson have several type in this book there are text conversation, get the
expression, table pronunciation, and grammar point.
 Are the students enabled to test their knowledge and revise the main grammatical and
functional exponents previously acquired?
The student can be able their knowledge because al of them have summary and
reflection.

MATERIALS:
 Are the material presented authentic and interesting?
Yes, because this book can see the direction how materials are presented in this unit in
the concept map.
 Are they intended to increase motivation as the students’ progress from one unit or
module to the next?
The book is intended for your personal,social,intellectual, and emotional growth.
 Is there a set of audio-cassettes or CD for the student?
There isn’t CD or Audio-cassettes for student.
 Does the teacher’s guide provide useful and detailed suggestion?
I don’t know teacher guide provide yes or no, but in the lesson to every skills
language give the suggestion for example skill reading, Have Coure Objectives,
student will be able to : respond to rhetorical steps of narrative texs.
 Do the activities encourage learner autonomy?
Yes, except exercise have assignment and group work.
 Are the various sections clearly indicated?
I think is clear, because every lesson have core material.
METHODOLOGY:
 Is there enough emphasis on the consolidation of communicative abilities as well as
structure and lexical knowledge?
Yes, because the book is also designed to help you do develop positive attitudes
toward the learning of Englishas a foreign language.
 Are the communicative activities and language work carefully integrated?
Yes ,because the materials many comversation so make students improve the skills.
 Are the language items dealt with through a clear presentation stage?
The presentation of the lesson are aimed in such a way that they will help you cope
with your various survival needs for learning the language.
 Are the tasks and activities creative?
Exercise balance by materials and is not only exercise but also there are assignment
and group work.
 Are the students trained to become good language learner and encouraged to make
their own decisions about how best to study?
Yes, can looking at the book every unit have table note pronunciation and grammar
points
 Are the students exposed to real spoken and written materials?
ADVANTEGES: The title Contextual ENGLISH 3 or grade XII of senior high schools
students. The book is completed with various interesting features.
 Unit cover is unique and have picture to prepare your mind for the topic you are
going to learn.
 Concept map draws the flow of the writer’s concept in presenting the material in
one lesson.
 Core material is the main materials presented in each lesson. Meanwhile, standard
of competence, basic competence, and course objective.
 Get the expression enriches your language competences in speaking.
 Grammar point provides grammar knowledge you should know related to the
material discussed in a lesson/
 Assignment is the activities to reach the compentence level needed.
 Exercise is the place for student getting their knowledge of grammar more skillful.
 Group work
 Pronunciation makes sure that students can say the words
 Glossary was written in English version.
 Summary
 Unit test, mid-semester test and semester test are the parameters for the teacher to
analyze your competences.
That is only the guideline for teachers. Teacher can improvise the materials which are
suitable with condition.

DISAVANTAGES: I think this book almost perfect because there are various interesting
features. But disavantages is there is not add-ons.
