Oracle BICS Cricket Demo - Deployment Instructions

1. DEPLOY DATABASE OBJECTS

Logon to your APEX application; navigate to SQL Workshop/SQL Scripts page in Oracle
APEX interface. Click on the upload button, upload and run the SQL script
Cricket_DDL_V503.sql in your BICS Oracle database. The script creates a few tables
and views. No data is uploaded.

*Important Note*: CLOUD_TIME table and its data are pre-requisites for this demo.
If that table is not present in your environment, you must generate it using the
"Create Time Dimension" option in BICS "Data Modeler" page (use 'Model Actions'
button on right top corner of the page). Cricket demo data spans from Jan 1971 to
Feb 2015.

2. LOAD DATASET

Open your /analytics URL and navigate to 'Administration' menu and select 'Data
Loader'. Click load data and navigate the extracted .csv files one by one into its
respective tables (file names are same as table names).

For Example:
click upload and select cric_odi_results.csv
click next
select existing table and select table cric_odi_results table and click next
click next again
you should recieve a message stating your records have been loaded
click ok and repeat the process for the 4 remains .csv files

3. DEPLOY BICS APPLICATION

Return back to your BICS home page and click Administration link > User Role and
Admin. Click on the snapshots tab and select upload snapshot
(Cricket_Demo_V503.bar), password of Admin123.
Note 1: If you hit upload encryption issue or virus scanner availability issues,
try again with different browser, log off from VPN, clear browser cache, and/or try
from alternative machine.
Note 2: deploying the Cricket App snapshot will override your content. You may want
to first create a backup snapshot of your content before deploying this app.

Once App Snapshot is uploaded, use the restore command to deploy it on your
environment. When restoring, select only Data Model and Catalog. Deselect
'Application Roles' so you preserve your original security roles there. (the
restore command can be found by click on the horizontal lines to the right of the
snapshot name).
note: during the restore of the snapshot your system will appear to be idle for up
to 3 minutes, please wait until restore process has finished.
Return back to your BICS home page once the snapshot has been deployed (uploading
your snapshot opens a new browser window). Click on New Analysis and reach Answers,

from the Criteria tab reload server metadata by clicking on the curved up and down
arrows.
You can now view all the dashboards in the Cricket Demo.
