Commentator: Good Afternoon! Today, Michael and Jennifer
enter into special covenant of love in marriage. They
profess to love & serve each other for the rest of their
lives, in fidelity and loyalty. Their love for each other is
their principal covenant with all of God’s people. As
witnesses, therefore, to this nuptial mass, in prayers & in
song. Let us unite as one and pray for God’s abundant
blessing on marriage.

INTODUCTORY RITES
Priest: The Sacrament of Matrimony, which we will witness
today as Michael and Jennifer confer this sacrament
or union to one another, exalt and makes divine the
human love which is the noblest element in our
lives. Once Michael and Jennifer are united through
this sacrament, they will transfigure and will participate
in God’s own love. This love which attract them to give
up themselves for the other’s sake will be made divine.
Let us all, therefore, rejoice with Michael and Jennifer
on this day of the Lord has made for them. Let us all
pray at this Mass, that the joy is theirs today may
remain with them all the days’ of their lives. Let us pray
for Michael and Jennifer because we all know that
their joy will be punctuated with sorrow, their smiles will
be lined with tears. Let us pray that their sorrow and
tears will never pull them apart. Rather, let us pray that
every tear will only deepen their love for each other.

Jennifer who came to God’s altar at the beginning of
their married life, so that they may always be united in
love for each other as now they will share in the body
and blood of Christ.
Holy Father, you created mankind in your own image
and made man and woman to be joined as husband
and wife in union of body and heart and so fulfill their
mission in this world. In the fulfillment of this sacrament,

Lord stretch out your hand and bless Michael and

THE RITE OF MARRIAGE
Commentator: We shall witness the marriage ceremony,
where Michael and Jennifer commit themselves to
each other as husband and wife before God and his
holy people.

Priest: Dearly beloved, Michael and Jennifer, you are here
today to seal your love with eternal bond before the
church. I assure you of the prayers of our community,
that God may pour his abundant blessing on your love
and help you carry out the duties of the married state.
And you, dear sponsor, parents, brothers and sisters,
relatives and friends of Michael and Jennifer may I ask
you to help them with your prayers and accept them
as a new couple in our Christian community.
STATEMENT OF INTENTIONS
Priest: Michael and Jennifer, may I ask you to answer
faithfully the following questions:
Jennifer, did you come here today of your own free
will to bind yourself forever in the love and service of
your husband?
