SETTINGS:

Last Update: Jan. 21, 2019 (OPL 1460_DB or OPL 1277_Ifcaro)

TITLE SETTINGS NOTES
Default is ON. Switch to OFF only when testing new games or when you notice the game won't load. By
Disable Debug
ON switching this to OFF, your screen will flash lots of different debug colors in order to troubleshoot if the game

gets stuck at a debug color. More details about debug colors can be found in this thread: Click Here.
Default is OFF. If your PS2 Games match your console's region (PAL or NTSC) or etc. It will display the
classic PlayStation Logo right before the PS2 Game launches. There has been a few reports that if a game
PS2 Logo ON
refuses to load, try to see if disabling this feature helps--but we feel these were early bug reports when the
feature was first introduced and that bug must have been fixed a while back.
Default is OFF. Enabling this option, OPL will create a games.bin file.
As for where this file cache is stored:

 HDD: hdd:/+OPL/games.bin
 USB / SMB: CD/games.bin and DVD/games.bin
Cache Game List OFF
This file is to help loading OPL much faster at startups -- perfect setting to enable for very large game collections loaded into OPL. Just
remember that when you enable this feature, you will need to press SELECT button to refresh the lists whenever you have added any new
games to your collections or else they won't show until you do so.

NOTE: this new feature was added starting with OPL 1460_DB and OPL 1277_ifcaro BETA versions. More details found here: Click Here.
IGR = In Game Reset
Default is -- which takes you to your PS2 Browser. It's best to use this default setting, especially if you loaded a game that required
cheats. This way when you press the following button combo: L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + SELECT + START it will restart your PS2 to your
Browser and then when you reload OPL, it will be a fresh load.
TIP: the path can NOT be longer than 31 characters. So keep your path and filenames short, so it doesn't go over 31 characters.
IGR path
WARNING: It's not recommended to choose OPL to be the app to run after an IGR, since it can cause the next game to have a faulty load up
or cause VMC to fail, since the PS2 hasn't yet released the handshake of VMC. This happens also when you try to load the same game that
you had just exited a few minutes ago. Try watng a few minutes to reload the same game so VMC becomes operational again.
UPDATE: Starting with OPL 1460_DB and OPL 1277_ifcaro, it was fixed that there shouldn't be a problem making OPL to be your path to
return to using IGR. But it still needs more testing, so if you notice a problem, report it.
Default is OFF: Unless you know perfectly well what you are doing, it is best to leave it in
Enable, Delete, and
OFF the OFF position. You don't want a house guest to press the wrong buttons and delete your games from your
Rename Actions
game list in OPL. By turning this ON, it will add extra buttons on the Main Page of OPL
Default is ON. This will give you the ability to remind you which was the last PS2 Game you last loaded--
espcially if you have a long list of games--one less step to have to scrol through your long list of games. If you

disable this by setting this setting to OFF. -- NOTE: this feature is only compatible with the PS2 Game pages

Default is . This is a very good feature to use when you have a large USB HDD that may have lots of other
types of files on them (personal pictures, mp3s and etc.) and you don't want OPL to have to scan those folders of
USB prefix path PS2USB
files. So what you do is create a subfolder near the root of your USB HDD (example: PS2USB) and then move
your OPL folder structure to this sub-folder and enter that folder name for as the path.
ETH prefix path Default is . If you use SMB and are using the PS2SMB shared folder, it's best not to use this feature.

than English.
Scrolling Medium Default is Medium. How quickly scrolling through your game list on OPL. I prefer Medium. It's really up to you.
Default is ON. I've never understood the other option OFF. It seems to put the game list in random, I've never figured out sorted by game ID, last
game added or etc. So I keep the default ON setting so the game list is sorted alphabetically by game title.
Automatic
ON IMPORTANT: only USB HDD and SMB (ETH) users need to put the GAME ID in the filename as a prefix. For Internal HDD users, never add your
sorting
GAME ID as a prefix, or else it will list them with your GAME ID. Plus keep in mind that OPL has a 32 characters limite to the filenames so if they
are too long, OPL will refuse to load them or display them on the menu pages.
Automatic Default is OFF. Recommend disabling it if you dislike the game list reset happening after a few seconds. It can cause
OFF
refresh problems with OPL if you enable this feature, so it's recommended to leave it in the OFF setting.
Enable Cover
(Optional) Default is On. Since like my game's covers to display, I leave it set to ON. (e.g. SLUS_200.10.COV.jpg)

Default is Off. Since I like the Info page to display, I leave it ON. Only works if you use a custom theme that support
the Info page. OPL's default theme does not support Info Page -- UPDATE: only the current OPL Daily Builds now

Default is AUTO. It's really up to you. Since I use Component HD cables and a NTSC HDTV, I use HDTV 480p
@60hz for my video mode setting. This setting only adjusts the OPL GUI when loading, not for game playing. Once
you launch the game, the game will automatic switch to the video mode it was designed for. If you wish to have games
also switch to different video modes, then enable and adjust GSM in the Game Settings per game.

these settings or have graphical distortion on the screen -- even if you don't disable these two HiRes modes, then make
sure to grab the current OPL Daily Build _NO-HIRES version. Also, you need to be using either Component Cables
or HDMI cables to be able to use these HiRes modes.
Default is 0: This adjusts the horizontal position of the OPL GUI screen (when trying to center it on your
H-POS 0 screen). Not to be confused to set the game's position (center) -- this adjustment here only applies to the OPL GUI and
not the games.

options
Default is Auto: If you use a router in between the PC and the PS2, then you ight prefer the 100Mbit full-
duplex setting, since it will help run games that require more streaming speed. Use "half-duplex" when you
Ethernet link

router. Preferably the 100Mbit version also. But it mose cases the AUTO setting is the best method --
especially when you use the DCHP and NETBIOS settings below.
- PS2 -
Default is DHCP:
DHCP: if you use a router then you should prefer DHCP -- so it will allow it to auto-configure the IP address . DHCP will fetch whatever IP
address is made available on your network.
IP address type (Optional)
STATIC: if you rather reserve an IP address that you know that none of your network devices will try to fetch, then select STATIC -- plus this
is the best option when not using a router. If using a router make sure to select a high IP address [128], so you know none of your other devices
will fight over between [100-110] --
IP address for your PS2 on your home network. If you use Static, try to select an address that none of your other

IP Address network devices can fight over. For example if all your devices are between 192.168.1.100 - 110 then use like

example:
Mask Mask address of your home network.
255.255.255.0
example:

192.168.1.1
DNS Server of your home network. NOTE: this is only if you want to use the NETWORK UPDATE feature to
fetch and update your CFG files of your games to sync with this website's database that is mentioned here. But
example: keep in mind that database may not always be up-to-date and etc. So it's optional and may or may not work -- so

this feature is quite buggy. If you enable this, and you press the option: Download Defaults under the per game
settings (PS2 Games). It will try to update your CFG file, but like I said before, it's a high gamble.
-SMB Server -
IP: some prefer to dictate what IP address that want to reserve for their PC and PS2 unit. This option is best if you have a very busy home
network (with many devices fighting for the same IP addresses) or for those that use a cable between their PC and PS2 unit (without a router). If
using a router, then elect a really high IP address [127] for your PC, so you know none of your other devices will fight over between [100-110].

IP address type (Optional)

NETBIOS: allows you to enter the computer’s name instead of its IP address. It makes your PS2 able to locate the PC on the network, even if the
IP address of the PC was changed (due to the PC being configured with DHCP for example). The computer’s name must be entered in capital
letters (mandatory). Enter “hostname” in command prompt to get your computer’s name if you don’t know it (or right-click on Computer >
Properties). When NetBIOS is used with DHCP, you no longer have to worry about IP addresses. IP of your PC if IP is chosen. ~ Source.
PC's IP ADDRESS: enter here the PC's IP address - best option to use when you use a static IP address for this PC. Here is a guide on how to
make your PC have a static IP address in your network: Click Here
PC's NETWORK NAME: enter the name of your PC's NETWORK NAME -- best and new option -- espcially those that use a router.
Address (Optional)

What's the best option? -- that all depends on your setup. I suggest to try each one to see which one gives you the best performance and less
trouble.
That port number is usually stable and available. But do check your network in case something else is using
Port 445
it. Might be also a good idea to allow that port number on your Firewall.

That is the name of your shared folder. It is best to have this folder at the root of you drive (internal or external
HDD) on your PC. Don't add any other bogus files in there that OPL can't use. You see, when you first run OPL,
it quickly scans this entire shared folder. And if you got files or folders or even subfolders that are not required for
OPL, it will cause either a freeze up or a lag when OPL is turning on.
Share PS2SMB
WARNING: Plus don't place this folder too deep into your HDD like: F:/folder name/folder name/PS2SMB --
Instead it should be as close to the root of the HDD as possible: F:/PS2SMB -- and make sure that is the only folder
that is being shared with read/write permissions. And also this path should not have spaces in the folder's names.
whatever you use as a username on your PC that has the shared folder. Best to use an admin account. Since I use a
User username password protected shared folder for OPL, I must enter a username and a password. Win 7 requires this to have a
stable connection between your PC and the PS2 over SMB.
