DEPRESSION

1. Why do we need the information?

In countries like the Philippines where mental health is rarely discussed, it usually takes a high profile
case before people begin talking about suicide and depression though more than 3.29 million Filipinos
are living with depression. Depression is a serious mental illness that can interfere with a person's life. It
can cause long-lasting and severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities. It
can also cause physical symptoms of pain, appetite changes, and sleep problems.

2. Where do you find the information?

Lately, articles regarding about depression started to spread over the internet. Many people shared
different cases in social medias like Facebook. There are also articles about depression that can be seen
in news and magazines. It tackles how if actually feels under depression and the treatments they did.

3. What is the quality of the information?

These kind of information are serious one, and should be prioritized and give the best action, because it
can affect someone's lifestyle and behavior. There are some heartbreaking cases because this depression
may lead to suicide and death. Meanwhile, there are also inspiring cases that they could overcome this
illness.

4. How are you going to plan your research?

I am going to gather different cases regarding depression to know what are the demographics of the
victims and the factors that triggered someone to be depressed. I will also interview someone who
actually experienced this illness so i can also share some suggestions to other people. With that, I plan to
compose a write up to spread awareness about depression.

5. How are you going to produce the information?

Since there are lots of social media users, I am going to post my write up over the internet so that there
will be more people who can see this awareness. Also, I will also promote and spread about the
campaign of the Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization–Philippines (WHO-PH)
to engage in a “serious national chat” using multi-media platforms to understand depression and other
mental health problems burdening millions of Filipinos.
6. Which information are you going to use?

I am going to use the information that I gathered and evaluated. Also, only true information so that I can
also believed by others. Confidential information should be always keep in private. Lastly, these
information should be came from legal sources and based on truth only.
