3.2.

1 Dead Loads

Dead loads are gravity loads which include the weight of all materials and fixed equipment
incorporated into the building or other structure including but not limited to walls, floors, roofs, ceilings,
stairways, built-in partitions, finishes, cladding and other similarly incorporated architectural and structural
items, and fixed service equipment, including the weight of cranes.. Dead loads are permanent loads in
which variations over time are rare or of small magnitude.

3.2.1.1 Minimum Design Dead Load

Mechanical and Electrical = 0.24kPa

Duct allowance
Plaster on Concrete = 0.24kPa
Floor Finish (Light Wt.) = 0.015kPa
Floor Finish (Solid Flat Tile) = 1.1 kPa

Partitions = 1.0kPa
Concrete fill finish = 0.023kPa
Wood studs, plastered two = 0.96kPa
Slab (150mm) = 3.6kPa
Utilities = 0.24 kPa
Floor Topping = 0.59 KPa
Ceiling(Suspended Channel
with Acoustic Board) = 0.15 kPa

• Exterior stud wall with brick veneer 2.30 kPa

• Windows, glass, frame and sash 0.38 kPa

3.2.3 Wind Load

Buildings, towers and other vertical structures, including the Main Wind-Force Resisting System
(MWFRS) and all components and cladding thereof, shall be designed and constructed to resist wind loads
as specified in Section 207 of NSCP 2015 7th edition.

Wind Load Parameters

For each wind direction considered, the upwind exposure category shall be based on ground
surface roughness that us determined from natural topography, vegetation, and constructed facilities.
NSCP Sec. 208.4.
Occupancy Category: I Essential Facilities
Basic Wind Speed, V = 270 kph (Section 207A.5)
The wind directionalityfactor shall be determined
Wind Directionality factor, Kd (Section 207A.6)
Exposure Category = B (Section 207A.7)
Topographic facor, Kzt (Section 207A.8)
Gust-effect factor (Section 207A.9)
Enclosure classification (Section 207A.10)
Internal pressure coefficient (Section 207A.11)
Importance factor, Iw = 1.00 (Special Occupancy Structures)
Building Height = 60 m
