EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Internship is an opportunity that employers offer to a students interested in

gaining work experience in particular industries. It gives opportunity to work in their

desired field where they can learn on how to apply it in the real world and build a

stronger valuable experience.

As a former Concentrix intern, Concentrix is a global business services company

with a large presence in the Philippines and provides services to clients in ten industry

verticals: automotive, banking and financial services, insurance, healthcare, technology,

consumer electronics, media and communications, retail and e-commerce, travel and

transportation, energy and public sector. We create better business outcomes and

differentiate our clients through technology, design, data, process and people.

Being an intern in Concentrix is such a great opportunity and lucky to have an

experience with this company and such a big help for us, as a graduating student who are

wondering what is BPO Company, How it works? Being assigned in recruitment team, I

witnessed the process of hiring and selection of employees. I learned to them that before

you accept applicants you have to check their employment background to their previous

employer if they are still connected to them or they have a violation to them and filter

them well to know whose applicant is deserving. I also gain more knowledge in computer

skills, also my communications skills since we are required to face all the applicants and

communicate well to them. And of course, my internship there wasn’t smooth and
1

perfect, I also encountered some minor problems while doing my assigned task or job,

but at least I learned to my mistakes and I am aware of what I am doing and making sure

that next time I won’t do that again instead I will try to do my best in my task. Now this

will help me in the future to become more efficient and effective employee someday.

Weekly Report

Internship weekly report is a report on what is going on in your day to day doing.

Inclusive date Task Done/Activities

2019
March 11-15, 2019 My first day on my on-the-job-training in Rural

Bank of Lucban Inc., Tayabas Branch located at

Tayabas, City Quezon started on March 11, 2019.

My first week in my internship was challenging

because I am assigned in Bayad Center, where I am

going to process all transactions in payment

including SSS for Employer and individual

Contributions, Salary Loan, PhilHealth, PagIBIG,

EPrime, Globe, PLDT, Home Credit and mostly

Meralco bills. At first it was very hard for me to do

all of that because I need to memorize what I have

to encode in every transactions and be more extra

careful on the amount and also to the PIN or Code

numbers, Because if I made some mistakes it was

very hard for them to delete the wrong transactions

and also a waste of time to Mr. Elmer Nadera the

1

one who is assigned in Bayad Center, But the good

thing is that he thought me about each and every

details of every transactions really well and he was

also very kind and helpful because sometimes I

forgot what to do on the transaction but he’s always

on my side, guiding and helping me with it, since he

was just sit behind me so I can approach him

immediately. If we are closed at 4:00 pm I will print

the transaction of payment summary and reports

and then it will give to Mr. Elmer “Kimpee” Nadera

(Bayad Center Clerk) for him to balance the cash in

him over transactions. , and if he’s done he tell us to

upload the transactions. We are two encoder, the

other one was Ma’am Chazelle Tadiosa, and she

was five months working at bank. 8am-4pm is the

open hours of the bank, and they have merienda

time in 3pm, they have a budget for that. Our out

time is 5pm. Before we go out we clean the table

first and the things that we use like ball pen,

scissors, stapler are should assembled and we shut

down the desktop.

May 6-7, 2019 This is my last two days; I will miss them because

they treat me like their family and what I deserved.

I am grateful because they accepted me in my first

day and they are the employees I’ve met. Now I’m

done in my practicum in banking institution.

Problem Encountered and Solutions

This section provides the difficulties that experience during my internship at

Concentrix Alabang Muntinlupa City and how do I solved them.

During my internship in Rural Bank of Lucban Tayabas Branch the first struggle

or problem that I encountered is that mostly in if I encountered irrate customer, he

complained that my encode in spelling of their name is wrong specially in PhilHealth

because it is a manual typing, sometimes I really don’t understand on the form the way

they wrote their name in, but I explained to them that it doesn’t matter if the spelling of
1

their name is wrong and the important is their PIN or code numbers then it’s alright. Mr.

Nadera was always there for me and saved me from my mistake to the customers and

confronted them. I had many mistake in encoding sometimes I was so fast to press the

enter key on the keyboard not checking the transaction but for that I learned from my

mistake, so I always check the transaction before I press the enter key.

Insights Gained

This includes the knowledge, skills, attitude and values that I acquired and

developed during my internship at Rural Bank of Lucban Inc.

Knowledge

The knowledge that I gained in Rural Bank of Lucban Inc. was all about how the

payments works and also on how to handle the pressure to myself everytime there are

many customers in front of me looking of what I do and also in receiving cash. Also the

knowledge I got in my intern is to become professional and be patient.

Skills

I enhanced and developed my communication skills and to socialize to many

people especially in the employees. I learned more skills in using computer, especially in

encoding. Most important is to handle many customers and can work under pressure.
1

Values

The values I’ve gained are that I have become more responsible because of this

internship. Following the company rules, mission and vision helped me to give my very

best when I’m working and be dedicated of what I am doing to become successful in life.

Suggestions/Recommendations

I suggested adding one cashier to receive the payments of the customers. They

should perform the task with outmost best and dedication to impress the superior

and employees . They should work with a heart and render their service

religiously for them to satisfy the people whom they encounter every day.

As for the future students that will take their internship in all Financial Institutions

always remember that you have to be yourself, must exert more effort and seriousness

especially when money is involved, be confident enough to face many people and just do

your best in your assigned task efficiently.
