Introduction

The level of domestic problems such as divorce has been on the increase in the UAE over the years. It means that there are varied

reasons why there is an increase of the cases in the country. For this reason, this paper will undertake quantitative analysis of

divorce cases. Descriptive analysis so does cross-tab analysis will be undertaken to evaluate the quantitative data supported in the

study.

Descriptive Analysis

1.1 Age

It is clear from the results that 46.2% of the participants; accounting to 6 of the 13 was between 20-30 years of age. Those that
were between 35-40 were 3 while only 4 of the participants (30.8%) were above the age of 40 years. This means that
most those that took part in the study were between the ages of 20-30.

Gender was a vital factor to consider in the study; as a result, 61.5% of the participants accounting to 8/13 of female took part in
the study. 38.5% of the participants accounting to only 5 of them were male. This means that the females were more in
the study as compared to the male counterparts.

According to the study, it is evident that divorce is accepted in the religion of the participants. 76.9% of the participants agreed
that it was accepted but only 23.1% of them said no. This is a representation of the sample size of the main population
and they state that most of them agree that the religion accepts divorce.

Family pressure was a main course of divorce; 46.2% of the participants considered that. 23.1% of them noted that personality
difference with the spouse is one of the reasons for divorce. On the other hand, also status difference also accounted to
23.1% while 7.7% considered that lack of tolerance for each other was also a factor.

In view of the type of marriages, it is clear that arranged marriages are seen to be very successful; 61.5% of the participants noted
that this was the successful marriage among the two. Love marriages did not go well; 38.5%: 5/13 of the participants noted that.

According to the participants, 30.8% of them considered that financial problems are effects of divorce among women. On the
other hand, it is clear that 15.4% of the participants noted social pressure were cause of divorce. Likewise, 23.1% of the
participants also considered that no respect in society was also a key effect of divorce among females. Those that noted that there
were no issues faced were 30.8% of the participants. The graph below shows the same analysis:

Based on the number of people that are affected the most as a result of divorce, children had 53.8% of the results. 23.1% are the
women and only 15.4% are the male.

When divorce takes place children end up with various habits. 30.8% of them end up smoking, while poor social skills, a
prosperity to crime and being independent all got 23.1% each.

Cross-Tab analysis based on gender noted that female considered that divorce was recommended with the religion accounting to

7 of the 13 participants. On the other hand only 3 male supported the fact.

7 of the 13 women considered that arranged marriages are more successful as compared to 1 male who considered the same. On
the other hand, 4 male noted that love marriages are more successful as compared to a single women was said the same.
