Next generation bowl solution with NVcore Vision System
Requirement: Higher Efficiency
and Cost Reduction
The Saturn and SO2X00 handler platforms provide
several input options:
n Automatic and manual tube loading
n Metal magazine loading
n Bowl loading
In order to increase the contact site efficiency and
thus reduce the cost of test, the next generation
of bowl feeding has been designed especially for
handling small devices, e.g. QFN and SO: Rasco’s
Monobowl module.
Solution: Monobowl Loader
One bowl feeder instead of the former solution with
two separated bowl feeders for left and right side.
The devices are loaded into one bowl feeder, which
is symmetrically feeding the two input tracks. This
guarantees a constant throughput and thus a better
tester efficiency.
The NVcore Vision System for orientation check is
included in the standard version (multiple template
for device orientation). The pin 1 detection with one
camera is made optionally via pad/lead geometry
or via marking depending on the application. The
camera has to be converted according to the
orientation check method. Appropriate kit inlays are
needed to change from pad to mark inspection and
vice versa.

An ionizer in the bowl is integrated to avoid
electrostatic charging of the devices.
A new standard feature in the input area of the
handler is the hopper, which is an additional filling
box for continuous re-filling of the devices into the
bowl feeder.
