UNCRATING INSTRUCTIONS

2.2 Double-door Model
1. Remove the shipping shroud from around sterilizer. Save shroud
as it will be reused to cover sterilizer until it is placed in use.
2. Carefully cut and remove strap holding accessories box to
sterilizer frame. Set box aside someplace where it will not be lost
or accidentally discarded.
3. Support panel package (if provided) so it will not fall over when
strap holding it in place is cut. Carefully cut and remove that
strap. Set package aside. Remove handwheel covers.
NOTE: The accessories box and panel package (if provided) should
not be opened until the sterilizer is being installed. If sterilizer is not
to be installed at this time, write on the outside of the packages what
they contain and that they should not be opened until the sterilizer
is being installed.
NOTE: Do not remove packing from the control console and access
doors until the sterilizer is at the installation site. This will protect
console while the sterilizer is being moved.

2. Pull door safety pins (Figure 3-3).
3. To remove door pedal bracket:
a. Move the door to the down position.
b. Remove both ends of spring attached to magnet bracket.
c. Remove cable. One end of the cable is attached to the
pedal lever, the other to the magnet bracket.
d. Using a hex wrench, remove the shoulder screw attaching
the magnet bracket to the sterilizer frame. Remove the
magnet bracket.
NOTE: Place the spring, cable and magnet bracket inside the
sterilizer chamber for storage until the sterilizer has been set in
place.
e. Remove the 2-3/4-inch leveling screw from the frame and
replace with the 5-inch screw. Put the 2-3/4-inch screw in
the chamber for storage until the sterilizer is set in place.
4. Raise the door to the up position and replace door safety pins.
5. Reconnect counterweight to the shipping bracket.
6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for opposite door on double door
sterilizers.

3.3 Supply Base Removal, All Sterilizers

NOTE: If a manual door unit, follow procedures in Remove Door

NOTE: Due to the presence of the door pedal, the sterilizer frame
is slightly thicker at the right front corner of the sterilizer. To lift the
shipping base from the floor requires that the floor pad under this
corner of the frame be flipped over (bottom up) on the wooden block.
NOTE: Apply a light oil (such as WD-40®) to each leveling screw.
3. This step is best accomplished using a 1-inch open-end
wrench. Using the 5-inch leveling screws, evenly lift the sterilizer
until the shipping base is clear of the floor.
4. Remove the shipping base using following the steps:
a. Remove the lag bolts attaching rear and middle cross-
members to the shipping base runners. Do not remove lag
bolts from cross-member at the front of the sterilizer. Refer
to Figure 3-4.
b. Slide shipping base from under the unit by pulling from the
front. Refer to Figure 3-5.

c. Slide transfer device under the sterilizer.
d. The middle cross members remain in place, attached to
the frame by carriage bolts. Refer to Figure 3-7. Remove
the carriage bolts and remove the two middle cross-
members.
5. Using the leveling screws, lower the sterilizer onto the
transfer device.
6. Move the sterilizer into position with transfer device.
7. Proceed to intallation instructions (129367-411).
