Charles Sturt University (CSU) Study Centres are pleased to announce two new pro
grams, the Diploma of Business and Associate Degree of Business Studies.
Sydney, Australia, November 12, 2010 -- Charles Sturt University (CSU) Study Cen
tres are pleased to announce two new programs, the Diploma of Business and Assoc
iate Degree of Business Studies.
Diploma of Business (CRISCO code: 072611K NSW)
This one-year course provides students with a pathway into the second year of th
e Associate Degree in Business Studies, as well as the second year of the Bachel
or of Business (with specialisations), Bachelor of Business Studies or Bachelor
of Information Technology at Charles Sturt University.
The Diploma of Business course offers a recognised qualification for employment
purposes and is designed for students who have achieved the equivalent of the Au
stralian High School Certificate, completed a Certificate IV in University Found
ation Studies or obtained other post-school certificates or diplomas. Depending
on the area of major study undertaken, graduates can find work as para-professio
nals in many occupations, including business analysis, marketing, management and
accounting, as well as in information technology and systems analysis related a
reas.
Areas of study:
- Business (Accounting, Human Resources Management, Management, Marketing and Bu
siness Studies)
- Information Technology
On completion of one of these streams, students will be able to continue into th
e CSU Associate Degree in Business Studies, Bachelor of Business (with specialis
ations), Bachelor of Business Studies or the Bachelor of Information Technology,
depending on subjects chosen.
Students who complete the Diploma and attain the entry requirements will be guar
anteed entry into a related Bachelor or Associate degree, with one year credit.
Associate Degree of Business Studies (CRISCO code: 072090G NSW)
This two-year course provides students with a pathway into the third year of the
Bachelor of Business (with specialisations), Bachelor of Business Studies or Ba
chelor of Information Technology at Charles Sturt University.
The Associate Degree offers an exit point at the sub-bachelor level, or a guaran
teed pathway into the Bachelor degree for further in-depth study and professiona
l preparation. This entry-level course offers a technical emphasis in the prepar
ation of business and computing para-professionals for business and the Informat
ion and Communications Technology (ICT) industry. Depending on the area of major
study undertaken, graduates can find work as para-professionals in many occupat
ions, including business analysis, marketing, management and accounting, as well
as in information technology and systems analysis related areas. Students can a
lso enter the Associate Degree in the second year with advanced standing of up t
o eight subjects credit from an alternative provider or institution, either from
within Australia or overseas.

Students who complete the Associate Degree and attain the entry requirements wil

The Diploma and Associate Degree courses offer multiple intakes in February, Jul
y and November. Enrolment is now open to international students.
