SCOPE OF WORK
B&S Iron Works LLC. will demolish the existing concrete foundation, stringers, treads, risers and canopy support posts on staircase.
Specifically, staircase S2, M7, S1 and M6.
CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURE

Demolition of Concrete Foundation, Existing Stringers, Treads, Risers and Canopy Support Posts
B&S Iron Works LLC will conduct the means and methods of demolishing the staircase will be conducted as follows.
1. First, B&S Iron Works LLC will mobilize at the jobsite and park their vehicles in a manner that will cause the least
disruption to traffic flow.
2. Directly after, the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic will be setup to divert traffic in staging area adjacent to the
staircase S2, M7, S1 and M6.
3. Maintenance and Protection of Traffic will be setup around the staircase S2, M7, S1 and M6 to warn pedestrians to
use eastern Staircase pointing them in the direction of the other two.
4. Once it is deemed safe to enter the excavation, the Plumber will install the backflow preventer and flowmeter.
5. The license plumber will make the wet tap.
6. Back fill and make whole the excavated area.
7. Lastly, the MPT will be removed and the plumber will demobilize.

8. A test report will be filled out by a certified backflow preventer tester by NCDOH.
9. The site will be inspected before leaving.

 Emergency Action Plan and Muster Point shall be outlined in the Daily Job Briefing.
 All safety engineers and superintendents will be 1st Aid/CPR trained.
 All engineers, superintendents, and foremen will have cell phones/2-way radio for emergency use when allowed by LIRR
personnel.
 The competent person/safety engineer shall notify the Safety Manager (631-559-4479) if an incident occurs.
 Work shall be coordinated with the client’s onsite representation.
 Emergency procedures including notification list and direction to medical facilities are posted in the 3rd Track Constructors field
office at 367 West John Street, Hicksville NY 11801
