B. Analysis

1. Why do you think that the first statement is debatable?
2. What makes the second statement truthful?

 The teacher will post on the board the words “FACT versus
OPINION” and will ask the students about their
understanding about it.

C. Abstraction

 FACT is something that has actual and proven existence

regardless of one’s opinion. For example, Statement B is a
fact because the president is the head of the state and
the chief officer of the country. Thus, he is the most
powerful leader of the country.
 An OPINION is a personal view formed about a particular
matter. An example of this would be Statement A. It is an
opinion since there is no proof or evidence that the
president is indeed the most intelligent person in the
country.

D. Application

 Each member of the group will be assigned a number and

the number of the student that the teacher will be calling
will represent the group to answer the question.
 They will read and analyze the given statement. Then, they
will identify the statement whether it is a fact or an opinion
by writing their answer on the bondpaper given to them.
