 Establishing a purpose for the lesson


A pronoun refers to a noun or a pronoun
which is called the pronoun’s antecedent.
It should agree with in number, person
and gender with its antecedent.

AGREEMENT IN NUMBER
Number refers to whether a pronoun
or noun is singular or plural.
Singular antecedents get singular
pronouns
Example: The girl cleaned her
room.
Plural antecedents get plural
pronouns
Example: The girls cleaned their
room.

Lizard = singular antecedent


its = singular pronoun

AGREEMENT IN GENDER

Gender refers to whether a pronoun


or noun is masculine, feminine, or neuter.

Masculine pronoun - when the


pronoun definitely refers to a
masculine antecedent.
Feminine pronoun - when the
pronoun definitely refers to a
feminine antecedent.
Neuter gender pronoun - refer to an
antecedent that represents things
rather than persons.

Ibigay ang bahagi ng pahayagang babasahin kung nais malaman ang tungkol sa mga sumusunod:
1. Ibig mong malaman kung aling koponan sa basketbol ang naglalaban sa kinagabihan.
2. Nais mong malaman ang opinion o kuru-kuro ng ilang tao sa mga isyu at pangyayaring
nagaganap.
3. Naghahanap ang pamilya ninyo ng mabibiling lote o bahay.
4. Sabik kang malaman kung kalian ipapalabas ang paborito mong pelikula.
5. Gusto mong malaman ang mga mahahalagang balita sa labas ng ating bansa.

III. Learning Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill
GAMES: “Catch Me If You Can” then Read Me.
Remember:
 You will be playing catching paper ball.
 If you hear a sounds it will be the start to pass and catch the ball.
 If sound stop, you will detach one paper containing a sentence that you will going
to read and answer.

Questions written on the paper ball:


 Ask your friend, what do you feel today?
 What is your favorite subject?
 How will you describe your best friend?
 What is your ambition?
 Who is your crush?

2. Review
The teacher will ask about the pupil’s previous lesson.

3. Motivation
 Picture Viewing: The teacher will show some pictures to the pupils, randomly pupils
will be asked to describe the pictures.
 Later on, the teacher will ask the pupils to guess the topic for today.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
 The teacher will introduce the topic to its learners.
 The teacher will be using a video presentation to effectively discuss the subject
matter

What is simple sentence?
What is compound sentence?
What about the complex sentence?

2. Performing the Activities (Modelling)

 The teacher will show and describe the picture.


 The teacher will write a sentence as simple, compound, and complex sentences.

3. Reinforcing the Concept and Skill (Guided Practice)

Pupils will be divided into for four groups.
Group 1 – snake
Group 2 – bird
Group 3 – cat
Group 4 – dog

Before to present the work activity you will make a sound of an animal with the tune
“AKO AY MAY LOBO”

To sum up the lesson, the teacher will ask:

 What is the significance or importance of our topic for today?

5. Application
The teachers will ask the pupils to write a simple, complex and compound sentence
structure on the board. They can choose any of the three.
