3.3 Grounding
Grounding is required for protecting complex electronic or electric systems such as power
system, communication system, and control system from lightning, over-current, over-
voltage, and electric noise. Thus, the systems can operate properly and protect human life
from electrical shock. Ground equipment minimizes the electrical potential of the
electronic device to that of the ground, which is zero electrical potential, so that it can
prevent the device from occurring electrification.
The ground resistant should be monthly measured and its data should be recorded and
managed for one year after the ground construction.

Ensure that the Breaker Is Turned Off Before Connecting the Power Cable
Since the system supplies power by manipulating the rectifier’s circuit breaker
(Disconnect device) to which the power cable is connected, make sure to check
that the rectifier’s circuit breaker and the system switch are turned off (open)
before connecting the power cable to the power connector.
Installing the system when the circuit breaker and the power switch are turned on
may damage the system and result in severe injury to the worker as soon as the
cable is not connected correctly.
The thickness of the AC wire should depend on the safety current, or allowable current,
respective to the temperature rise upper limit. Also, when providing the electric current
over a long distance, the wire should ensure the voltage drop remains within 2% of the
receiving voltage.
The thickness of the DC wire should depend on the allowable voltage drop.
The DC wire should be installed separately from the AC wire.
When installing the cable, wrap the rear cut with tape to protect the cable.
Install the power cable using the power cable rack, and connect the -48 VDC (blue)
and RTN (red) from rectifier (DC distributor) to the upper section of the system.
