B32:40 - propulsion engine
During nearly sixty years of operation, more than 5000 Bergen four stroke
medium speed engines for marine propulsion, marine auxiliary and
power generation have been delivered to customers world wide.
The new Bergen B32:40 offers more power, lower fuel consumption, and
the latest in turbocharger technology.
The customer requirements for lower life-cycle costs, higher reliability,
simplified operations and service, as well as better environmental per-
formance have led the process.
Technical data
*Engine ratings are according to ISO 3046/1. They also meet conditions of max.45°C ambient air temperature and max. 32°C seawater temperature. Specific
fuel oil consumption is based on MDO with a net calorific value of 42.7 MJ/kg and no engine driven pumps. If engine driven pumps, add 1 g/kWh for each
pump.
Heavy fuel operation: Waste heat recovery: Note: Due to continous development, some
