Company 1:

Chosen Scenario

This chosen organization is established for an organization which is a new Registered

Training Organization located in the CBD with a total of 10 members as the staff. There are

various courses as well that would be offered to the trainees, including Certificate IV, Diploma

and Advanced Diploma Business. This would enable the involvement of the trainees and the

participants in the objective of developing and presenting workplace documents. The

organizations are also identified to have an infrastructure that deals with the following

hierarchy: The CEO, HR, Training Manager, two Administration personnel, Accounts and the

trainers, concluding the staff members.

Determination of the Requirements

Since the organization is located in the area of CBD and has a total 10 members of staff,

the recommended technical solution in the training facility should have the ERP solutions to

manage and integrate all the department in the organization to be managed with a single system,

along with the primary technical requirements of the new organizational setup. This is to ensure

that all the communication between the departments are feasibly connected with a single source

and at the same time if the company moves forward and expands, the amount of information

generated in the business would also be easy to handle.

Along with that, the business would also require a virtual classroom atmosphere and

virtual learning labs to convey the training related information to the trainees regarding the

training by helping them be connected to the coursework. Again, there are other basic

requirements for the business that can be recommended to make sure that the other networking

and cyber requirements are properly maintained to function.

Recommendations for the available technology

Recommended Vendors: NetSuite ERP partners can be contacted for providing the

ERP solution to the organization (Hamerman et al. 2018). On the other hand, the ‘e-lecta’ group

can be contacted for the organization for supporting the E-learning Collaboration Environment

for the classrooms.

Recommended IT specialists: For this requirement, I-Tech organization can be

contacted to provide the organization with the basic Information Technology requirements for

the company.

Company 2:

Chosen Scenario

This particular company performs as a mortgage broker that happens to deliver the

services with the total of 8 staff members. While 4 of the staff members are found to be based

in the office, each with their own area, there are other 4 employees as well that work on the

road as the sales representatives. The office is located in the outer suburbs.

Determination of the Requirements

The staff members are required to have a proper access to the internet, to their respective

emails and have a complete access to office suites. Therefore, it is required that as mortgage

brokers, United Wholesale Mortgage software that allows the mortgage brokers to be always

be connected to the office suites and provides a one-step solution for eClosing and virtual

support as well. As for the other internet accessibility, basic hardware requirements are also

needed.

Recommendations for the available technology

Recommended Vendors: United Wholesale Mortgage provides the supply of the

software to the required organization, which in this case would be the Mortgage Broking

organization in discussion (Green 2018).

Recommended IT specialists: I-Tech organization would be ideal for the supply of the

basic hardware requirements that the organization needs.

Assessment 2
1. What economic advantages does Voice/Data integration have to business?
Savings
One of the main reasons for the migration to VoIP service is cost savings. VoIP service plans
begin as low as $20 per month. The cost of your monthly package will vary depending on the
features you choose and the amount of extensions your business needs.
Features

VoIP phone systems have all the features of traditional systems, such as call waiting, call
forwarding, caller ID and voice mail, but they also offer additional features that are
particularly useful to businesses.
Flexibility

You can choose to have your VoIP service hosted with a VoIP vendor for a monthly fee. The
vendor will provide system maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades. You can also easily
add more line extensions as your business grows.

2. What is VOIP and how does it work?

VOIP – Voice over IP, Voice over Internet Protocol, is a method for taking analog audio signals,
like the kind you hear when you talk on the phone, and turning them into digital data that can
be transmitted over the Internet.
By adding voice to a data network, you’ll reduce costs, improve productivity, and enhance
collaboration.
3. Apart from cost, what are the features of VOIP a business can benefit from?
Features and Flexibility
4. What is self-configuring ADSL?
Asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) is a type of DSL broadband communications
technology used for connecting to the Internet. ADSL allows more data to be sent over
existing copper telephone lines (POTS), when compared to traditional modem lines.

5. What are next generation networks?

a next generation network is a packet-based network that can be used for both telephony
and data and that supports mobility. Initially, the term Next Generation Network was used to
refer to the transformation of the core network to IP. Sometimes a NGN is referred to as an
all-IP network.

6. What are the main architectural changes that came with NGN?
Next Generation Networking (NGN) is a broad term that refers to key architectural changes
in telecommunication core and access networks that is projected to be deployed over the
next 5-10 years. The broad idea is that in NGN, one network transports all information and
services (voice, data, and all sorts of media such as video) by encapsulating these into packets,
like it is on the Internet. Built around the Internet Protocol, that the term "all-IP" is also
sometimes a reference to the transformation of current telecommunication services towards
NGN.

7. List 3 physical and max data rate specifications from the 802.11 standards.

8. Describe Ad-hoc mode in relation to 802.11 wireless networks?
Ad-hoc mode refers to a wireless network structure where devices can communicate directly
with each other. It is an additional feature that is specified in the 802.11 set of standards,
which is referred to as an independent basic service set (IBSS). This type of wireless network
is also called peer-to-peer mode.
9. Describe Infrastructure mode in relation to 802.11 wireless networks.

Infrastructure mode is an 802.11 networking framework in which devices communicate with

each other by first going through an Access Point (AP). In infrastructure mode, wireless
devices can communicate with each other or can communicate with a wired network. escribe

10. Comment on SSID and the effect of hiding it to increase security.

11. Discuss Access Control List and wireless security.
Access Control List (ACL) is a list of consent attached to a point or object with respect to a
computer system. Every object which may be directory or file have security attributes. A user
can activate and deactivate these security attributes which identify its access control list.

12. What is WEP and how does it work?

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is a security algorithm for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks.
(WPA2), the IEEE declared that both WEP-40 and WEP-104 have been deprecated. WEP was
the only encryption protocol available to 802.11a and 802.11b devices built before the WPA
standard, which was available for 802.11g devices.
