Facilitating Students with Preparation towards Campus Placement

 Speak to students and impress upon them that they must attend each and every session of the
training program (Both Aptitude and Programming skills) and practise the same vigorously.
Students may be counseled often on this to sustain the momentum.
 Faculty Mentors assigned exclusively for monitoring placements training activity should be
available to students during their training and subsequently during placement, and meet them
to talk about their progress and experience before the placement begins.
 Laboratories that have been made available, facilitate students with project based learning,
thereby helping them acquire additional skills which give them an edge over students of other
colleges. It is important for the students to make full use of the lab environment executing
several innovative projects so that they can feel confident and positive about their own
abilities. Faculty mentors are requested to guide students in this regard.
 Mentors are advised to provide constant feedback to the students on their progress in training
programs conducted for the students so that students would do the necessary mid-course
correction, if any. Tests are conducted regularly, if needed on a daily basis, feedback is
provided to the students on each section of the test, namely,
o Programming
o Verbal analogies section of verbal ability
o Analytical ability
o Quantitative ability
and accordingly students are advised and assigned faculty for improving their performance.
 Group discussions, JAM sessions, Creative writing sessions shall be arranged and
performance monitored and suggestions given on need basis..
 Mock interviews shall be arranged for students on a regular basis so that they are better
prepared to face interviews.
 Mentors are requested to speak to students on the importance of training programs, taking the
tests frequently, making self-assessment on the tests through their scores and taking
corrective action.
 All the above tasks are to be carried out passionately.
