INTRODUCTION
Attention Getter: When developer and realtor Chris Spooner suffered a fire loss to his $30,000 home in
North Carolina, he immediately recognized that this loss was not what he bargained for and was not
willing to tackle.
While he knew a lot about real estate and property development, he certainly knew the documenting
process and proving his damages to his home was out of his area of expertise. In addition to this, he
simply did not have the necessary time to commit to compiling the large loss that this claim will require.
He needed a Public Insurance Adjuster. He needed someone like me.
Statement of Credibility (Why are you credible to speak on the topic?): I am a Public Adjuster, which
means I work for the Insured, not the insurer, making sure they get the maximum pay-out they deserve. I
work on a new claim, underpaid claim or denied claim. What's most important is I do not get paid until
the customer is paid. Hence my success is based on your success.
BODY/MAIN POINTS
Adjusters are hired to handle various aspects of insurance claims, and there exist three classes of
adjusters.
Classes of insurance claim adjusters
The three classes of insurance claims adjusters are;
1. Staff adjusters – They are employed by an insurance company or self-insured entity
2. Independent adjusters – These are independent contractors hired by the insurance company.
