relevant to this story is a falling inlove or a relationship with a simple postman who

experienced by the author is potraying the story of a shy simple postman who develops

a transformative friendship with the poet.

their society is fear and social rejection may represents the characters at lack of friend
loyalty. Summer is the season of the year. It is the season of growing which shows the
population in their village. Summer represent the old fertility ritual which represents
reject some of outdated traditions,ideas,rules and practices. The story address societal
issues, such as race, gender, and class which tells rejecting some outdated traditions
and practices in their has a conflict in their village because of different races,gender and
class who abused their powers. Social forces shape the power to control one village
and set a new rules and practices and reject outrated traditions. In this story Mr.
Summer has the power he is one of the administre of the lottery in their village, he has
the power to control the others. Mrs. Hunchinston has no power in this story she has
phobia of social rejection and without a friends' loyalty. Lottery reflect the Great
American Dream it is a dream in which a life should be perfect and better for everyone
and this story tells about opportunity according to ability or achievement and how power
used. Lottery reflect urban values story leads in racial and social change and its gaining
population. Lottery reflects rural values such as living in one villages with different
beliefs and practices but its similar in set of rules and laws. Lottery reflect sub-urban
values how the people live in one large city with one leader but has a different
perspectives. Lottery tells about the ideology and social order of one place. One Marxist
explanation for the story lies in the symbol of the black dot made on a paper for the
lottery the blacl dot represent selfish personality is linked to business which stands for
capitalism. Mr. Summer who draws the dot involved in the business who represent
powerful class in capitalism that has control of town because Mr. Summer also
administre of the lottery. The story address issues of economic exploitation there are so
many role does money play in slip of papers it use something that would fit more easily
into the black box. Economic conditions determine the direction of the characters’ lives
in terms of their fraud business they use the power to control one villages to grow their
business. The work challenge or affirm the social order it depicts in the story. The
protagonist’s struggle be seen as symbolic of a larger class struggle in the story. The
microcosm (small world) of the story reflect the macrocosm (large world) of the society it
was composed in large population. The characters correspond to types of government,
such as a dictatorship, which shows how Mr. Summer lead the one village socialism it
deals in one business that show a fraud way and corruption.
