Working Experience (Q/C Piping/Painting/Welding & T/Packs)
 Study/Review and understand the project scope and specifications as well as the ITP’s and
Method statements with respect discipline.
 Verification of preheat; inter pass temperature etc. before and during welding.
 Verification of documents for releasing the spools to painting, NDT, PWHT, PAMI and verification
of ISO’S (Test) pack for hydro and pneumatic test release.
 Inspection of 3D cold bending for small bore piping.
 Review the MTC,s and NDT procedures
 Monitoring DSS, CS and LTCS piping fab’n, erection and welding activities as per client’s Specs.
 Welding Procedure review and conducting PQR Program (DSS, CS, SS, and LTCS).
 Monitor welds consumables storing, portable oven usage and control of electrodes movements.
 Verifying the approved welding procedure specification is properly exercised during welding.
 Check all fittings condition, pipe alignment and proper orientation during fit-up / installation.
 As per the QCP (Quality Control Plan) carry out the visual inspections before any welding activity.
Monitor and record weather conditions periodically before commencing any welding activity.
 Conducts inspection before welding jobs for material traceability as per isometric drawings to
ensure correct material usage as per project specifications.
 Monitor welding parameters for example checking for volts and amperes, traveling speed etc on
a random basis while the welding job is in progress.
 Post completion of a welding job; initiate a final inspection to check for conformity as per specs.
 Coordinate with subcontractors for carrying out RT (Radiography Testing), UT (Ultrasonic Testing),
and MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection), PT for readiness of the line for mechanical clearance.
 Review NDT reports from subcontractors and compile them for preparing test packs.
 Prepare daily surveillance reports on a daily basis which needs to be submitted to QC Manager.
 Inspection of piping & equipment installation works.
 Preparation of test packs, procedures, method statements & inspection plans.
 Review validity of all calibration records for inspection equipment, material storage records.
 Monitor and ensure all inspection records, acceptance reports are maintained on a regular
basis, co-ordinate with client’s representatives during execution of the projects.
 Receive the RFI (Request for Inspection) from the discipline staff and carry out the inspection as
per approved ITP, identify any discrepancies/non-compliance.
 Carry out the mechanical inspection/walk-down after the line has been fully installed and
generate the punch list with the A, B and C category punch items.
 Coordinate with the discipline supervisors/engineers to take corrective actions to ensure the
closure of NCRs.
 Ensure that necessary levels of reliability in equipment and systems are reached by the correct
specification of requirements through to proper installation, commissioning and test.
 Report any major Quality issues to the Quality Manager of the Project Management Team.
 To review & mark the test packs limit and ensure engineering isometric is matching with P&IDs.
 ITP (surveillance, witness and mandatory inspection, and record review). Sign-off quality control
forms after all activities are completed, conformed and required records verified.
 Review of certifications and documentation to ensure validity and compliance with
specifications, drawings, manufacturing and inspection test plans.
 Prior to hydrostatic testing carry a walk through inspection to check for fabrication/welding etc
that may be required to meet conformance to isometric GA, P&IDs.
 Coordinating with all inspection activities related to Tie-in, piping mechanical completion, Test
packs and technical documentation such as ITPs & Ms etc
 To review test packs limit and ensure engineering isometric is matching with P&ID or PEFS
(PROCESS ENGINEERING FLOW SCHEMES).
 To verify and check the valid calibration certificates/tags or stickers of pressure gauges, Pressure
relief valves, Testing manifolds.
 Carry out inspection of work in progress including checking if the right procedure is followed for
the piping as well as the check for the qualification of the piping personnel and the kind of
materials being used for fabrication and erection activities.
 Study and understand the project scope and specifications as well as the ITP’s and Method
statements with respect discipline.
 Inspection of grit, garnet & sand blasting as per specifications.
 Calibration check of inspection tools with valid calibration/use date.
 Inspection of blotter test of compressed air.
 Check of environmental conditions relative humidity, dry bulb temperature. Wet bulb
temperature metal surface temperature, airflow speed.
 Check of Painting Specification as per drawing / Specifications / Manufacturer’s specs.
 Physical check of paint expiry date & RAL # (Color Code).
 Check of Paint Ingredient mixing ratio, pot life and paint apply procedure (airless spray records).
 Check of wet film thickness (WFT), dry to touch time and dry film thickness (DFT).
 Plant Piping and Equipment's (Rotary, Static), Structural, Tanks grit blasting and Painting work.
 To check and review sub-contractor’s procedures and method statements, quality plans, ITP’s.
 Ensure that the weather conditions are suitable for painting, check if the right materials are being
used for blasting, to check surface profile prior to start the painting application process.
