    This document presents survey results from questions about hydraulic bridges. It finds: 1) The majority of respondents agreed that hydraulic bridges are convenient for cars and ships in urban areas and are useful in emergencies. 2) Most respondents also agreed that hydraulic bridges can cause traffic jams and delays for emergency vehicles. There is also seen to be a high risk of accidents. 3) Alternate routes are seen as keeping traffic flowing and being useful for emergencies, but some respondents felt they are not cost effective. There is still seen to be a risk of accidents while the bridge operates.
