AirDensity
AirDensity is an LTE-A (FDD or TDD) indoor small cell with a wireless backhaul
connection, and is used where wireline backhaul is not available or not feasible.
It is a free-standing enclosure, and can be placed on window sills, tables and
shelfs. AirDensity is composed of an eNB for access, and a standard high-
performance UE relay for wireless backhaul. Instead of connecting to the EPC
via wireline backhaul, the eNB is connected to the UE relay via a cable, and
the UE relay is connected via a standard LTE wireless connection to a different
cellular cell, known as the Donor eNB. Effectively, AirDensity is an eNB to its
users, and a UE to the Donor eNB. AirDensity supports time and frequency
synchronization via the Donor eNB.
