Under current Philippine regulations, for export and import field, could you help to clarify:

1. With the type of business registration likes COMIT Phillipines, are we allowed to do the
export and import goods directly ?
- Import and export of assets and equipment for the operation of the Company
- Import and export of equipment and goods for sale

Yes, provided COMIT gets accreditation from BOC thru their Account
Management Office. The following are the requirements for accreditation of new
importers:
 Duly notarized accomplished Application Form and signed by the responsible
officer of the corporation
 Printed CPRS of the Company and Updated notification of “STORED” status
 Corporate Secretary Certificate designating its authorized signatories in the
Import entries (with specimen signatures)
 BOC receipt (green copy) evidencing payment of application fee (Php 1,000)
 Two valid IDs of responsible officers (i.e. passport, UMID Card, SSS ID, Driver’s
License, Alien Certificate of Registration and Alien Employment Permit)
 Photocopy of SEC registration and latest General Information Sheet, if available
 Personal profile of responsible officers (with 2x2 pictures-used photo paper)
 Company profile with pictures of Office premises with proper and permanent
signage and pictures of warehouse/storage area
 Proof of lawful occupancy of Office/Warehouse address (i.e. lease contract,
affidavit of consent from the owner)
 BIR registration
 Latest ITR for the past three years duly received by the BIR, if applicable
 Valid Mayor’s Permit
 Proof of Financial capacity to import goods

2. For importing of cell phone, Telecom Testing Equipment, Terminal test ..., then do we need to
obtain any special permits from Philippines Ministries or Organization?

For importing of mobile phones, telecommunication equipment and the like, permit
from National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) is required.

3. Could you advise for Import Equipment/Software, what kind of taxes shall be applied? (such
as Import tax, VAT, special consumption tax, contractor tax, ...)

Telecommunication commodity has zero rate of duty but is subject to VAT.

4. Could you advise if any public website for us to check for the import codes for goods when
import-export in and out of Philippines ???
You can go www.pntr.gov.ph, the Philippine National Trade Repository website to check
the codes of your commodity and then go to https://tariffcommission.gov.ph/tariff-book to check
the rate of duty.
