Appearance
Figure 1-1 shows a ZXSDR R8852.
1-1
Configuration Description
Through software configuration, the ZXSDR R8852 can be configured in the GSM, LTE,
or GSM/LTE system.
1-2
In the SDR radio network, a hardware platform can support multiple systems through
software configuration. Compared with a traditional network where hardware devices
are respectively provided for different systems, the SDR network has a more concise
architecture and is easier to manage. The 2T2R design of the ZXSDR R8852 ensures
that the system can be smoothly upgraded to support LTE 2×2 MIMO cells. Because a
module supports GSM+LTE, the evolution risks after the operator establishes the network
are reduced and the operation policy is more flexible.

For a description of the modules of the ZXSDR R8852, refer to Table 2-1.
Name Description
Transceiver Provides panel interfaces and implements digital IF, transmits and receives
RF signals, implements main control, and controls the clock, power supply,
and amplifier.
Duplex filter Consists of two duplexers and one filter to provide the receive diversity
function.
2-2
Linux is the operating system on the hardware platform. The Board Support Package
(BSP) is the software relevant to the board hardware and allows the Real-Time Operating
System (RTOS) to operate on boards. The operation support layer provides the following
functions: Operation Support Subsystem (OSS), System Control Subsystem (SCS),
Operating And Maintenance (OAM), Data Base Subsystem (DBS), Barrier Subsystem
(BRS), and Barrier Access Control Subsystem (BRACS).
l The OSS is the support layer in the software architecture, providing a
hardware-independent platform for system software operation and basic software
functions including scheduling, timers, memory management, inter-module
communication, sequence control, monitoring, alarms, and logs.
l The SCS controls power supplies and active/standby switchover.
l The OAM provides the configuration, alarm, and performance measurement
functions.
l The DBS provides data storage and management for the system.
l The BRS processes protocol stacks for the system.
l The BRACS performs access control for the bearer layer.

Note:
The NetNumen U31 system is the ZTE-developed unified EMS. It manages various
connected radio NEs in a centralized manner, and provides standard interfaces for the
upper network management system. One EMS system can maintain multiple base
stations.
The NetNumen U31 system provides functions including configuration management,
topology management, fault management, performance management, security
management, system management, and task management. It also provides a
command line tool, GUI, and maintenance tool.

Note:
The LMT is applied in the following cases: on-site commissioning and debugging,
site visit in case of the transmission link being broken, and site visit for problem
troubleshooting.

Weight 10.5 kg
Note:
The actual operating bandwidth and IBW are subjected to the product models in the
contract.

Note:
If the operating environment temperature is higher than 40°C, do not directly touch device
surfaces to avoid scald. To remove a device in this environment, power off the device first,
and remove the device after the device surface temperature is reduced.
