9.0 Item of Fixing of wooden frame

Work
Purpose To Define the Work Methodology to be adopted for Carrying out fixing of wooden
door frame at the Project.
Scope Include D o o r f i x i n g to be Carried out during Construction at Project Site.

Activity 1) This methodology approval are subject to sample approval in full including anchor
Description fastener , Hold fast, required coat of primer & Anti termite treatment on base.

2) The make and the section of the extruded Wooden sections shall be
approved by client from preferred manufacturers namely Red Marandi.
3) Seasoning process shall be done before being planned and shaped to the required
dimension.
4) The door Frame sections shall be fabricated and assembled as per approved
shop drawings.
5) Application of Anti-termite coating for the frame sides which are getting
abutting to the masonry/RCC face. Before starting of activity Name/Brand of

ATT & Name/Brand of primer shall be specified on checklist as per approved

by QA/QC.

6) All the section shall be inspected by GMR for any defect, crack, knots, holes
etc. after this stage pass primer application will be done.
7) Random testing as ITP done by GMR & witnessed by PIPL.
8) Application of colour less solignum paint to the face of frame in contact with
masonry.

9) Storage shall be done as per define in IS 4082. Door frame shall be stored in stacks
upon well treated so as to be above the ground level by at least 150mm at
respective building. Stack shall be protected from hot dry winds, direct sun or rain.
The frames shall not dragged or placed one over other.

10) Ensure proper alignment verticality before embedding hold fast and anchor
fastener.

11) Fixing of door frames shall be done as per the drawing by using MS hold fast for
masonry wall fixing and anchor fastener for RCC face. PIPL Approved Anchor
fastener as per Make & size shall be used, and same shall be mentioned in Checklist.

12) To fix the hold fast in masonry wall, the procedure fixed in mock up approval shall
be followed.

13) 3 hold fast of size 225x 25 xs6mm MS flat on each side embedded in M-15 concrete.
One at center point and other two at 30 cm from the top and bottom of the frames.

14) Remove temporary supports like thresh holds and corner parties’ final setting
of hold fast embedment and curing for 7 days.
15) Vertical members of the door frames shall be embedded in the floor for the
full thickness of the floor finish and shall be suitably strutted and wedged in
order to prevent warping during construction.
