The Sharjah National Oil Company jetty walkway and support system at Hamriyah Port Marine Terminal in Sharjah was damaged by a vessel collision. BLP was tasked with proposing and designing a new support system. They designed a vertical two-pile system after reviewing options for feasibility. Load analyses were conducted on the system using the Nordlund method and Oasys Alp software to evaluate capacity and stability under limit and service conditions per Eurocode 7 load combinations.

Sharjah National Oil Company (SNOC) jetty was damaged due to vessel collision. Project site is located on Hamriyah Port Marine Terminal, Sharjah.
BLP scope is to propose and design a new
support system for the walkway.
Design
After reviewing different options and with
feasibility perspective, a vertical two pile system is proposed as the new walkway support system.
Various loads acting on the walkway are
studied and evaluated. Vertical capacity of the pile is estimated using Nordlund method and Oasys Alp software is used for lateral analysis. Analyses were made for the support system in both limit and service state conditions with load combinations as per Eurocode 7.
