GEOFF

Based on the short story that I read,"Cheat!" retold by Allan Baillie, a character that I found
interesting is Geoff Bolder. I find him interesting because he is an honest boy. Geoff was
honest when he confessed to Mr Velos about the book written by William Brandburie. I think
we should be honest like him.

Besides that, I find him interesting because he is funny. Geoff made up funny theory of how
Mr Velos chose the winner of the Holmes Watkins Medal. I think sometimes we should be
funny but sometimes we also should be serious.

All in all, a character that I find interesting is Geoff Bolder because he is honest and funny.
His good characteristic make me like him.

LYNNE
Based on the short story, Cheat! By Allan Baillie, the character that I like is Lynne because
she is gracious in accepting defeat, hardworking and fair.

This story is about Lynne and Geoff who join a short story competituuon and Geoff wins.
Lynne thinks Geoff has cheated by copying the story. In the story, Lynne is gracious in
accepting defeat. Although she is disappointed, she congratulates Geoff sincerely on his
win.

She is also hardworking. She works very hard to write a dramatic story about a sheepdog in
a flood.

Finally, she is fair, she does not want to win the medal after finding out that Geoff did not
cheat in the competition.

In conclusion, the character that I like is Lynne because she is gracious in accepting defeat,
hardworking and fair.
