The RODEC Auto-Lift Rod Lifter from R&M Energy Systems is
a portable hand tool that raises the sucker rod string on down-
hole PC pump systems. Its proprietary lift system does not
require the use of additional tools or equipment. It uses the
power of the pump drive to raise the entire rod string, enabling
the operator to reposition rod couplings or the pump rotor
promptly without lost production time. Once the procedure is
complete, the Auto-Lift Rod Lifter can be transferred to other
wells for further rod string adjustments.

Rod String
The RODEC Auto-Lift Rod Lifter provides a greater degree of
control over well performance by allowing operators to quickly
reposition rod strings anytime the need arises. It eliminates
the downtime and expense associated with hiring a flush-by
rig or cherry picker to lift the rods.

Simple Operation
1. Down-hole PC pump drive is turned off
2. RODEC Auto-Lift Rod Lifter fits over the polished rod
extension and rests on the drive clamp
3. Tighten lifter clamp and loosen drive clamp
4. Turn PC pump drive on so Auto-Lift Rod Lifter can
automatically raise rod string the desired amount
5. Pump drive is turned off, the drive clamp is tightened
and the Auto-Lift Rod Lifter and its clamp are removed
6. Down-hole PC pump system returns to operation

Applied periodically in combination with a RODEC Tubing
Rotator and New Era® and Patco® Rod Guides, the Auto-Lift 1
Rod Lifter will reduce the hassle and expense associated with

holed production tubing. Continuous use of a Tubing Rotator 4
spreads wear around the entire inner circumference of
the tubing greatly extending its performance life. With
supplemental lifting from a Rod Lifter, the rod couplings and
shear coupling are moved vertically to new locations to
further increase tubing life.
