Hi Emma,
I (1) write/am writing to you from Dallas! I’m on vacation here with my family. Dallas, Texas is in the
USA and it has a very multicultural population. About 35% (2) speak/are speaking Spanish. I can’t
speak Spanish very (3) good/well, but the receptionist in the hotel (4) teaches/is teaching me some
expressions when she can. It’s fun! I’m also learning some American words. In Texas, for example, they
(5) don’t say/aren’t saying “hello” or “hi”, they say “howdy”. It’s really cool!
There (6) are/is a lot of museums here – our favourite is The Firefighters Museum.
We always (7)get up/are getting up early, (8)have/has breakfast quickly and then (9)take/find a bus to
a new location. In the evenings, we usually (10) go/are going to different restaurants.
My dad’s favourite restaurant here is Spanish, but mine is the American restaurant TGIF.
We (11) relax/are relaxing in the hotel now. Dad (12) reads/is reading the newspaper and mum
(13)sleeps/is sleeping!
I really love Dallas and I don’t want to come home. What (14) do you do/are you doing at the moment?
Bye,
Andy
